Schedule this week!

A few tweaks.

I have added a Pranayama & Meditation session on (most Saturdays) at 10am as a donation basis (£5 suggested minimum donation). The most important part of asana practice is the breath and as much as teachers try their best to mention and teach pranayama in an asana class, there’s just never enough time, even in asana a student will mostly be focused on the body because honestly there is already enough to think about without adding breath into the mix. That is why it is important to teach and also practice pranayama separately to your asana practice. Hence this class!

Guided self practice. As much as there is so much reluctance from students these days for self practice it is the only way to learn properly and experience yoga. This will never be experienced when you constantly follow a teacher and someone else’s breath. As my teacher used to say ‘you put the food on your spoon, put it to your mouth and yet don’t put it in your mouth to experience the taste’. Open to beginners and advanced students.

Any questions on classes always feel free to DM or email!

I’m excited to be sharing this workshop with you all.

It’s been quite a few years since I last taught around the philosophy of Ashtanga Yoga as it was shared with me by my teacher in Mysore. I always loved how he shared these teachings with us not as only what we bring into our daily life but also what we bring onto our mat.

My own feeling around philosophy is that it does not need to be complicated. Anything simple can be more easily digested, experienced and integrated into our lives, otherwise what is the point? Which is why these teachings have always stayed very dear to me.

In this workshop we will explore the Eight Limbs of Yoga as passed down from Sage Patanjali, followed by a modified Primary Series practice, pranayama and meditation.

The workshop is open to all levels. Complete beginners are very welcome and will be encouraged to honour their own body and skip or modify postures where appropriate.

The workshop is also suitable for experienced practitioners and teachers wishing to deepen their understanding of philosophy and practice within the Krishnamacharya tradition.

CPD certificate provided for yoga teachers attending.
