🚨 Tuesday afternoons free? We need your help! 🚨

We are preparing to relaunch the Legs Heal Together Club in the coming weeks and are looking for local volunteers to join the team!
At least initially, the club will run every Tuesday afternoon at St Michael’s Parish Centre here in Verwood. But before we can officially welcome our first members, we need more lovely volunteers to help get us off the ground.

🗓️ The countdown is on! Help us launch 'Legs Heal Together' this summer!
We are preparing to launch our new Legs Heal Together Club at St Michael’s Parish Centre in the coming weeks and are looking for a few more local volunteers to join the team. This is a Crane Valley Primary Care initiative, initially starting with patients from The Cranborne Practice

The club will run weekly on Tuesday afternoons. The concept is simple: we provide leg healthcare in a relaxed, social space where members can enjoy a brew, a biscuit, and a friendly chat to help beat loneliness. ☕❤️

No medical experience needed! Our nurses handle the clinical side. We just need enthusiastic people to help make tea, welcome visitors, and have a good natter.

If you want to make a real difference in your local community, we'd love to hear from you.

📧 To sign up or ask questions, email Jayne Walton: [email protected] or phone 01202 117370.

📣 A Message Regarding Recent News on Acid Reflux Medication
We’ve seen some concern regarding recent reports about long-term use of acid reflux medication (PPIs) and a potential link to dementia.
ℹ️ It is important to note that this was an observational study and does not prove that these medications cause dementia. These drugs remain a safe and essential treatment for managing reflux and protecting against serious health complications.

Your safety is our priority:
💊 Our clinical pharmacists routinely evaluate your medications. They balance the latest research, your clinical history, and your personal health goals to ensure your treatment plan is right for you.

⛔ Do Not Stop Abruptly: Stopping your medication suddenly can cause a "rebound" effect, leading to a significant return of symptoms. Please talk to us before making any changes.

🧑‍⚕️ If you have concerns about your long-term medication, please contact the practice to discuss it during your next review. We are here to help you manage your health safely and effectively.

We hope all our patients enjoy a great bank holiday weekend! Don't forget to enjoy the sun safely! ☀️

Keep yourself and your family safe with a SPF 30+ broad-spectrum sunscreen 20 minutes before heading out (don’t forget to reapply every 2 hours!).🧴
Seek shade, especially between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. when the sun is strongest, and wear a wide brimmed hat and UV-rated sunglasses when in the sun. 😎

Stay hydrated and stay sun-safe! We're open today until 6:30 pm we'll be here for you on the other side from 8 am Tuesday the 26th 🌈 😊

As the weather heats up this weekend, make sure you stock up on sunscreen!

Even if it’s cloudy, UV rays can still cause sunburn. Follow this advice to stay safe and avoid getting sunburnt, and reduce your risk of developing skin cancer.

Visit the NHS website for more info on sun safety

Today is World Hypertension Day! 🩺 Do you know your numbers?
High blood pressure usually has no symptoms, but checking it regularly is one of the simplest and most important ways to look after your heart health.
To make it as easy as possible for you, we are promoting our BP@Home service. Instead of coming into the surgery, you can track your blood pressure from the comfort of your own home.
📱 How it works:
• Take your reading at home.
• Add them to the BP@Home Luscii app.
• The app sends your data directly and safely to our clinical team to review.
It’s quick, secure, and helps us keep you healthy without the need to book an appointment.
