A brilliant weekend across two very different events for Team Alphamed 💚

From supporting swimmers at GO Swim Loch Lomond to wrapping up a fantastic run at The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, our teams have been out providing medical cover in some incredible settings.

We’re proud to support events of all shapes and sizes across Scotland, and even prouder of the people behind the scenes who make that support possible. A busy few weeks, plenty of miles covered, and some memorable moments along the way!

What an experience The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has been so far! 💚

Supporting such an iconic event at Edinburgh Castle has been a real highlight for our team, and we’re incredibly proud of everyone who’s played a part throughout its run.

There’s no slowing down just yet, with more major events still to come, including a huge Bon Jovi concert at Murrayfield this weekend!

A huge thank you to every member of our team for their continued hard work and commitment during an exceptionally busy events season - we couldn’t do it without you.

Where do we even begin? 💚

A couple of weeks on from the Commonwealth Games 2026, we’re still reflecting on what an incredible experience it was for Alphamed.

Working in collaboration with the Glasgow 2026 Organising Company, our team provided medical care for athletes and spectators across the Games.

Months of planning, preparation and training went into ensuring our teams were ready for every potential emergency. Throughout, they rose to every challenge, delivered an exceptional standard of care and represented Alphamed brilliantly.

At the same time, our wider teams continued to provide medical cover at events across Scotland, including Belladrum, making it an exceptionally busy and memorable period for Alphamed.

Here are just a few snapshots from an incredible Games!

Our gold-medal team behind the Games! 🥇

While our medical teams were out across the venues, months of work had already taken place behind the scenes to make sure everything was ready.

From coordinating the medical provision and supporting recruitment to organising training, delivering kit and working through every possible safety scenario, our operations team worked tirelessly to make sure everyone had what they needed, when they needed it.

A special shout-out goes to:

💚 Senior Operations Manager, Lois
💚 Logistics & Procurement Coordinator, Callum
💚 Operations Assistant, Aimee

The Commonwealth Games came during our busiest period of the year, but they took it all in their stride and kept everything running smoothly from start to finish.

They were also backed by brilliant support from our Senior Leadership Team and our Finance Team - it really was a huge team effort and one we're incredibly proud of.

A huge well done again to everyone involved! 👏

Keep your eyes peeled, as we’ll be sharing more photos from the Games soon.

And that's a wrap!

As we enter the final hours of operations at the Clinical Hub, we wanted to say a huge thank you to every member of the Alphamed team who has delivered outstanding care throughout the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

From racing injuries and cycling crashes to boxing incidents and gymnastics tumbles, our team were there every step of the way, ensuring athletes, officials and spectators received the expert care they deserved.

Across the Games, Alphamed has provided medical support to 10 sports over 5 venues, delivering more than 1,400 shifts of care.

Supported by Medical Lead and CEO Dr Sarah Richardson and Deputy Medical Lead and Clinical Director Dr Fraser Waterson, who have provided continuous 24/7 senior clinical leadership and oversight of medical operations, this has truly been a whole-team achievement.

And so, to every clinician, controller, operations manager and member of our support teams, thank you! You have all played a vital role, and we couldn't be prouder.

Supporting athletes on the world stage 💚

As we approach the halfway point of the Commonwealth Games 2026, we couldn’t be prouder of the Alphamed team working in collaboration with the Glasgow 2026 Organising Company to provide medical care for athletes throughout the event.

It’s already been a fantastic experience for us and a real privilege to support such a major sporting event here in Scotland.

A huge thank you to every member of our team for the professionalism and high standard of care they continue to deliver. There’s still plenty more to come, and we’re delighted to be playing our part!

You never know who you’ll meet working with Alphamed! 💚

It’s been another full-on week for the team, from meeting Cammy Barnes backstage at the Edinburgh Castle Concerts to soaking up the atmosphere with Fiji supporters at the rugby.

Throughout it all, the team were on site providing medical cover and helping each event run safely. It’s been an exceptionally busy period, and they’ve handled it brilliantly.

We’re not slowing down yet, with a range of events still to come and the Commonwealth Games kicking off this week!

Tiree Music Festival 2026 💚

Another sold-out year at Tiree Music Festival saw thousands of people arrive on the island for an unforgettable weekend, with the Alphamed team right amongst the action!

Across the festival, our team were on the ground responding to those needing medical care and helping to keep everyone safe. When their breaks rolled around, they also made the most of the stunning location with a little healthy competition on the beachfront!

A huge thank you to everyone who made the trip and represented Alphamed so brilliantly. Professional throughout, great fun in between and a fantastic team as always!

Prepared for every scenario 💚

Last weekend, 30 members of the Alphamed team took part in scenario training at Edinburgh Castle Esplanade.

Supported by four trainers, the team worked through a range of realistic medical scenarios, including CPR and casualty movement within the stands. The session tested their clinical decision-making, communication and ability to work effectively together in a live event environment.

At Alphamed Scotland, we’re committed to ensuring our teams have the skills, confidence and practical experience needed to deliver high-quality medical care across a wide range of events.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise and deliver the training, and to all of our team members who took part!
