Monday 11th May 2026
Appointment Availability:
We only have two GPs working today, therefor there will be a limited number of book on the day appointments. This is due to GP annual leave and sickness.

We have an on call doctor working until 6.30pm, who will triage and assess patients based on their urgent clinical need.

Your local Community Pharmacies can assist you with minor ailments, so please consider this when choosing your healthcare proffessional.

We are very sorry for this inconvenience and lack of service provision, and we hope that this will greatly improve in the very near future.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding.

IMPORTANT PATIENT INFORMATION:

Routine Appointments:

Due to GP annual leave and sickness, we have less routine appointments available at present. We are aware that this is extremely frustrating for patients and we would like to apologise for this.

We ask that patients telephoning the surgery bare this in mind, when speaking with our Reception Team, as they are doing their very best to help you and are only able to offer what is available.

Rude or abusive behaviour to any member of the Practice Team will not be tolerated under any circumstance.

There is a GP On call each day for urgent clinical presntations, and should you feel your issue is urgent, you will be triaged by the On call GP in the first instance.

We thank you for your understanding.

Meningitis Vaccination Update
We are currently receiving high calls regarding Meningitis Vaccinations Enquiries, and the following information has been provided to support patients understand the current guidance we as a GP practice follow.
• A vaccine against meningococcal group B disease (Men B) was introduced in the UK in September 2015. It is given at 8 weeks, 12 weeks, and 1 year of age on the consent of the parent / legal guardian

• Children are only licensed to receive the MenB vaccine up to 2 years of age.

• Children over 2 years who have not received MenB cannot be caught up on the NHS immunisation schedule.

• MenB vaccination may be available privately via pharmacies, however this is not something we are able to advise on.

• The meningococcal group ACWY vaccine (MenACWY) is routinely offered at around 14 years of age, this in usually provided in school.

• Individuals who missed their MenACWY vaccine can still receive it up to their 25th birthday by speaking with the Practice Nurse.

At present, we do not have any stock available to offer private meningitis vaccination clinics and all NHS stock are prioritised for those eligible via the guidelines above.
We are also aware that local pharmacies in Carmarthen and surrounding areas currently have no stock available, although some have begun operating waiting lists.
We will provide further updates as guidance is received from Public Health Wales or Hywel Dda University Health Board.

Thank you for your understanding.
