Meaningful, person-centred engagement starts at home by being involved in researching duck-safe foods to create their own "Master Chef" menu. Actively finding, mixing, and packaging the ingredients honors independent skills and choices, building excitement for the outdoor adventure. The activity culminates at the pond, giving residents a deep sense of personal accomplishment and genuine joy as they watch the ducks enjoy the feast they prepared. 🦆 Today’s wild adventures.

Bowling is a firm favourite activity amongst our residents. It offers low-impact exercise , is an inclusive activity for all, and is enjoyable while supporting residents’ physical health, emotional well-being, and social engagement. 🎳

Hours: Weekend shifts available plus more to cover holidays

We are looking for a Weekend Support Worker to join our friendly and dedicated team at a three-bed residential home in Wivenhoe, supporting adults with autism and learning disabilities.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference by providing person-centred support in a warm and supportive home environment.

About the Role
As a Weekend Support Worker, you will support residents with daily living, promote independence, and help individuals enjoy meaningful activities and experiences.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing high-quality, person-centred care and support
Supporting with daily routines and personal care where required
Encouraging independence and choice
Supporting residents to access activities and the local community
Building positive relationships and promoting wellbeing
Maintaining accurate records and following care plans and safeguarding procedures
Working as part of a supportive team to create a safe and positive home environment

What We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants who are:
Caring, patient, and dependable
Passionate about supporting adults with autism and learning disabilities
Able to work weekends flexibly
Good communicators and team players
Experienced in care or support work (preferred but not essential as training can be provided)

Our residents enjoyed a fantastic accessible boat trip, taking in the beautiful scenery and fresh air while spending time together. The boat’s accessibility features ensured everyone could join in the experience comfortably and safely and even got to control the boat! 🌊

Staff and individuals enjoy planning animal visits as there are therapeutic benefits such as enhancing resident wellbeing by reducing stress, stimulating cognitive memory, and fostering meaningful emotional connections. As you can see the animals don’t seem to mind either ! 🦋🐄
