The Gift of Time

Living in this material world we are taught to accumulate material goods which are a sign to ourselves and the world that we are successful.

Do you ever observe and marvel at the ridiculousness of the items that are yearned for?

Why do we need the latest iphone or a jacket with the company's logo or a car that costs more to replace a tyre than most people earn in a month.

Would it make a difference in our communication, our appearance or our ability to get from A to B if we bought the basic models?

When we can look at the production of luxury goods and realise we are being fooled into parting with our hard earned cash, to fulfil an illusion of success the facade is revealed.

We stop being lured in to a game that only serves the companies that promote a fantasy image of their products and all the problems they solve.

In these times when the majority of people work long hours chasing the illusionary dream of material luxury we are duped into thinking this is our mission in life.

But if we just take a step back for a moment what is really scarce in our lives and what can we never get back?

Time!

Who would like more time?

I would guess most of us would and yet we continue to push ourselves to spend more time at work to achieve the dream we are sold.

When you have the beautiful house, the sports car and the lovely family how much time do you really spend appreciating what you have and who you love?

Time is the gift that reconnects to live in a heart led way and opens up creativity, leisure and fun.

The best of our potential is present when we are lost in time. Our deeply held resources, values and beliefs can express when we take a breath and make space for who we really are and not someone we thought we should be.

Getting to know the real person behind the programming of life takes time to calm the conscious mind and allow the unconscious to seep into our presence.

When was the last time you sat and became aware of your breath and the sensations and emotions in your body?

We have been taught to value the mind and forget the body that obediently carries our head around.

We have tuned out of the subtle senses and feelings that are present when we slow down and notice.

The gift of time gives us the opportunity to live in the moment, question the decisions we make that do not honour our true feelings or deeply held beliefs and values.

Even those of us that find ourselves in a loop of duty and responsibility with many relying on us owe it to ourselves to find time to connect and check in with the essence of who we are and how we want to show up in our lives.

Creating a regular habit of time for self reflection where nothing else encroaches whether it is to sit and meditate, to listen to music or express ourselves in the arts, it is imperative for our emotional and physical health to carve out this gift of time.

This time has the ability to reassess and redirect when we are in touch with our true selves and our internal purpose.

Take back that gift of time and observe the beneficial changes that radiate out to everyone in your life.

The Gift of Possibility

What is it that confines us to a narrow path and keep us from even noticing opportunities?

Our beliefs create our reality and the world that is within our vision and reach. We spend our childhood into our twenties constructing a structure of belief that frames our lives.

Whilst we develop and change incrementally often the framework remains the same. Dependent on the space within the framework as to how we harness our abilities and take up those opportunities that present in our lives.

The programming of our beliefs are often carved out within the constraints of fear. Fear has the capacity to limit our exploits to a safe path within an infinite maze of possible routes.

The adventurous among us have been able to experience fear and associate it with excitement. The adrenal j***y will turn towards fear and thrive on the exhilaration.

Many of us are not open to the possibility these pursuits would bring a positive outcome and are risk adverse. We have been shaped by either first hand experience or secondhand fear passed on by those close to us. We are particularly vulnerable in childhood. The result is the unconscious mind ensures we avoid situations at all costs.

While caution in some situations is advisable, the unconscious mind is tasked to keep us safe and the flip switch of fear can be set so low it impedes every day activities and stands in the way of the success we seek.

Working with the fear driven mindset requires patience and resetting the safety zone. Remembering the unconscious mind does not work with or hear logic. It is purely emotionally based and acts on how safe it feels. Careful inquisitive questioning is required to discover the areas of possibility and gently without triggering the adrenals widening those possibilities to alter the level of risk aversion.

Where there are no possibilities the individual requires further foundations and deepening of their perceived safety to take any steps into unknown territory.

Encouragement is needed to step out of the comfort zone and gain evidence of beneficial gain by allowing some measured vulnerability.

Once possibility is established small steps can be taken and evidence noted of the benefits of the activity.

It is important to establish a perceived safety net internally and relate nervousness to being a positive attribute focused on the feeling that will arise on taking these courageous steps.

Once the evidence is gathered the momentum increases and confidence builds that the outcome is much more possible.

New horizons are created only once there is awareness of possibility. With a deeper level of self awareness we can unlock our self imposed limits as they lose their stronghold and become questionable. It is the key to the locked door and the light shining on what was in the dark.

Ready to challenge your possibilities?

The Age of Convenience

Convenience - it seems to be a modern phenomena that we don't question enough.

When we really reflect on what is supplied for our convenience have we been more hindered than helped?

From the moment we entered the tech age there has been a drive to make life easier and increase our time for leisure, but be careful what you wish for.

While we may believe we just want to spends our days with no particular aim or mission, imagine for a moment how that would look!

Is it what we really yearn for or have we succumb to subliminal influence believing it would be the answer to all our woes.

Can you imagine having no particular aim in life?
What would motivate you to get out of bed?

We are seduced by the thought of having more time and I am sure we would all benefit from an increase in downtime, but what if all we had was downtime?

AI is advancing faster than any of us can keep up with and the lure of Chat GPT is just one element that is creeping into our daily lives? The convenience of having AI construct an E-Mail or formulate an essay can be appealing.

But haven't we missed the point?

When we forego our creative mind and allow AI to fill in the gaps we gradually lose our ability to challenge and explore our thoughts within not only the written word, but the ability to verbally debate.

Every word is an energy - a frequency resonating out from our uniquely creative minds that touches others in a way that AI cannot reach.

With the advent of calculators we lost much of our ability to do mental arithmetic with the creation of auto correct we lost our ability to spell. With the invention of social media we became lonely and devoid of social skills.

The age of convenience has not equipped us to be resilient but has stripped us of our ability to adapt and evolve.

There is something intrinsically rewarding about expressing ourselves in words. Our communication as a species is unique and intricate. Words convey not only ideas, but hopes, beliefs, values and emotions.

Our stories reach deep into the unconscious mind and inspire us. They are the connectors that bring us together and strengthen our resolve as a community.

The literary greats convey their view of the world infused with detail while leaving space for visual interpretation and spark our imagination with their craft.

To continue to thrive and grow we require challenge. If we are given everything on a plate what do we become?

The enquiring minds of the human race enabled us to survive and succeed and yet we freely give away our power for convenience.

What if life wasn't meant to be convenient?

Would we mature and develop wisdom if we handed over all of the tasks that are arduous to AI?

AI has its place, but as the worldwide race escalates has the science exceeded the wisdom in how it should be regulated and utilised?

We were born to question and challenge and overcome hardship. There is great reward in enduring.

The next time you hear yourself saying 'It is so convenient.' Make sure you check you are not giving away a human trait that is valuable in a trade off that ultimately will rob you of something irreplaceable.

Do You Enjoy Public Speaking?

Public speaking (Glossophobia) is consistently ranked as one of the top fears in Great Britain, trumped only by heights, snakes and spiders dependent on what survey you find.

It is reported around 77% of Britons experience some form of anxiety around public speaking.
Many admit to significant anxiety when it comes to speaking in public. The impact is highlighted with many avoiding a dream job due to public speaking being an element of the role.

Core issues often include the fear of judgement and looking foolish in front of others, stumbling over words and imposter syndrome.

I can identify with this fear and have experienced it in the past, wanting to avoid at all costs having to stand up and speak and being put in the spotlight.

I am eternally grateful I learnt to relish the opportunity to share tools and messages in a group environment.

What changed?

I watched others sharing in groups and had a feeling that what I had to share was of value and helpful to others and how it would be wasted to keep it to myself.

I started to discover my voice when the passion and motivation became way too important to keep quiet. It took some time to get completely comfortable and if you had told me at the beginning of my career as a practitioner I would actually enjoy public speaking I would not have believed it.

I was lucky enough to experience NLP training over 20 years ago and many of the techniques aided my ability to convey my message.

The first presentation was clunky, but the message was strong. it doesn't have to be perfect! Remember only you know what you are going to share.

When I utilised grounding techniques and strategies for getting myself out of my own way, I discovered an easier flow of thought and words. It was as if a block had been dissolved and I realised we all have a message and we are natural conduits for sharing.

Many of us experience imposter syndrome, which can be rooted in doubts in self belief. However, when the inner chatter creeps in and whispers 'Who are you to speak out?' perhaps you can quieten the inner critic with 'I have an important message to share, if not me then who?'

The best of humanity comes from sharing with positive intention to empower others and can far exceed fear of judgement when we can begin to believe our audience wants us to succeed.

The first step when getting ready to present is to create the environment by consciously sending out the energy of interest and curiosity to your audience. You are priming them to be open to seeing, hearing and feeling the elements of your public presentation that resonate with them.

Take your time to slow your breathing, ground yourself, connect to what is above and beyond you, centre your energy and create a sense of balance. EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is great for assisting you into this powerful state. Take a look at the free EFT Tapping chart on my website: www.e-motionalsolutions.co.uk/downloads

Before you even say a word take a long breath as if energising the power of your words.

Take your time, remember when speaking to a group it is more effective if you slow down your speech and punctuate your words with pauses.

Make eye contact with your group ensuring you move your gaze around the room, bringing everyone in to the space.

The power of group work can be so rewarding and works as an energy loop back creating higher frequency energy for the speaker and the group.

I love to help others find their voice and imbue them with the passion for public speaking.
Contact me for a free explorative chat about the modalities and process to take steps towards confident public speaking and inspire others.

Intentional Positive Influence

We could all be forgiven for believing we do not hold any power to influence.

We are often discouraged and disempowered by the supposed authorities that have an underlying dictate on how we live and what is right or for the greater good.

When we can reflect on what could be the reason for this mechanism of compliance it becomes more apparent that global enlightenment would have a detrimental effect on the influence of those that claim to rule our land.

Fear is a very easy emotional state to keep in line and limit individual power and the ability to intentionally and positively influence.

When fear populates our lives for a period of time it becomes not only habitual, but not so easy to rise above. Fear can become temporarily paralysing and inform our energy fields of impending doom that requires disengagement and avoidance.

Fear is usually triggered by a perceived threat and it is in our nature to want to avoid threats and survive. However, as a society we have been blasted with messages of fear on a continuous loop for decades, if not longer, and it is no surprise it has taken its toll on our own perception and ability to utilise self power.

But what has been evident during our history is when just a few start to share their intentional positive influence it inspires others to act and has a knock on effect that ripples throughout a community.

I am sure we all had a teacher at school or in our community that sparked our interest and inspired us to be taller and bigger and stop restricting ourselves to the tiny pigeon hole we mistakenly thought we belonged to.

We all have the capacity to spread our intentional positive influence in small acts every day and we are often not aware of the impact. We may question what we can do as individuals, but all it takes is an individual with intentional positive influence and before long it builds a community based on intentional positive influence with joint power to make change, grow and develop.

What is missing in our society is community. In a time of social media and technology we are more alone than ever. Evidence is illustrated in the increasing percentage of the population who take regular medication due to depressive conditions.

Community is the antidote and real community starts in person, building trust and sharing experiences, knowledge and skills. Feeling part of something and that we belong.

I am exercising my Intentional Positive Influence to request you reflect and decide to use your intentional positive influence to shape and develop the world you want to live in.

What small step could you take?

We are igniting the flame of intentional positive influence in North West Surrey and would love to hear from you.

Now is the time for action!
