🌿 Filling My Own Cup 🌿

Recently, I found myself wandering away from my own self-practice.

I still meditate every day, but I noticed the external noise was getting too loud and distracting me from myself.

So this week, for me, is a week of focusing on my own self-care priorities and making time for self-reflection, self-care, self-love & healing. ❤️

The Hermit is my tarot card for this week.

For me, it represents a week of stillness, introspection and relaxation. A time to drown out the noise, turn inward and seek and gain clarity from the answers within.

To create that balance of feeling calm, grounded and peaceful.

I want to take those answers, thoughts and visions and journal on them — giving myself the space to reflect and understand what they are showing me.

A chance to come back home to myself. 🌿

Because my own journey has taught me that wholeness comes from within, not from an external source.

I’ve spent a lot of time looking outside of myself for answers, validation and a sense of completeness. But I’m learning that so much of what I need is already within me.

Sometimes I just need to quieten the noise enough to hear myself again.

Self-care is so important, and I believe it is one of the most loving acts you can give yourself.

We can spend so much time giving to everyone else that sometimes we forget that we need filling up too.

Self-care is not selfish.
It’s self-love. ❤️

🌿 Sometimes the people closest to us become our biggest teachers

Not because they came into our lives to hurt us.

But because relationships can bring things to the surface that we didn’t even realise were still there.

We can unconsciously mirror each other’s wounds.

One person’s fear might meet another person’s fear.

One person’s need for reassurance might meet another person’s fear of being controlled.

One person’s abandonment wound might meet another person’s difficulty with closeness.

And before we know it, we’re reacting to each other from places we haven’t healed yet.

Neither person may even realise what’s happening.

And I think this is where relationships can teach us so much about ourselves.

But there is an important distinction.

Understanding our own wounds doesn’t mean we caused someone else’s betrayal.

It doesn’t mean we deserved it.

And it doesn’t mean we have to take responsibility for another person’s choices.

We can look honestly at ourselves and say:

What was my part?
What was I bringing into this relationship?
What wounds were being triggered in me?
What could I have done differently?

And at the same time say:

“Their choices belong to them.”

Both things can be true.

Maybe healing isn’t about deciding who was the villain and who was the victim.

Maybe sometimes it’s about becoming curious enough to understand ourselves — without excusing what happened and without blaming ourselves for someone else’s decisions.

Because…

Understanding myself isn’t the same as blaming myself. 🤍

And perhaps that’s one of the greatest lessons a relationship can leave us with.

Not “Why wasn’t I enough?”

But…

“What is this experience showing me about me?”
