Margaret McCabe (nee Levingston), Greaghcrotta, Tullyco, Cootehill and late of Knockateggart, Stradone, Co. Cavan. Friday, August 14th 2026, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital. Margaret will be sadly missed by her son Joe (Catriona), grandchildren Francis (Aoife), and Charlene, great grandchildren Ryan, Megan, Dean, Louise, Kylie, Kaleb, Joseph and the late Kayden. Lovingly remembered by her sister Philomena McKenna, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at the residence of her son Joe and daughter-in-law Catriona (H16 A344), on Sunday from 5pm - 7pm. Removal on Monday to arrive at St. Patrick’s Church, Carrickallen for Funeral Mass at 11am, burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House private at all other times please.

Margaret Cooney, Castlemanor Nursing Home and late of Carha, Stradone, Co. Cavan. Friday, August 14th, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Terence and Mary Ellen, sister Eileen Rogers, brother John and sister-in-law Ann.

Sadly missed by her sister Angela (Joe), Redhills, brother Terry (Kilnaleck), nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, fellow residents and wonderful staff of Castlemanor Nursing Home.

Removal on Sunday, to arrive at St. Brigid’s Church, Laragh for Funeral Mass at 12.30pm, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Eileen Hyland (neé Landers), Sherbourne Road, Chelmsford, Essex. Who died on July 21st, 2026, peacefully at her home with Andrew her youngest son by her side.

Predeceased by her loving husband Francis (formerly of Lavey, Stradone, Co. Cavan).

Deeply regretted by her children Peter, Eamon (Julie), Andrew (Wanisa) and her brother Eamon. By her grandchildren Jessica, Carla, Benjiman, Oudi and Donny, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, great grandchildren, great grandnieces and nephews, relatives in Cavan, Kerry and Armagh and many, many friends.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Funeral Mass on Thursday August 20th at 11am in St. Augustine’s RC Church, Chelmsford (CM1 6GQ). Cremation afterwards in Chelmsford Crematorium (CM1 3WQ). Reception afterwards in the County Hotel Chelmsford.

Donations if required to British Heart Foundation and Sanctus Charity, Chelmsford. Family Flowers only. House private please.

James Coyle, Corfeyhone, Ballyhaise, Cavan. Sunday, July 19th 2026 tragically, to the inexpressible grief of his heartbroken family, his mother Majella, brother Liam, and sisters Eleanor and Eimear. Predeceased by his beloved Daddy, Brian.


He will be deeply missed by his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends, especially Cian, Shane, Ned and Abby, as well as his work colleagues and teammates.


May James Rest in Peace

James will repose at his home (H12 P7F8) tomorrow Tuesday from 6pm for family and close friends and on Wednesday from 12 noon, where all are welcome to pay their respects.

Removal on Thursday morning to St. Brigid’s Church, Laragh, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Drung Cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be available to view on www.churchtv.ie/laragh

Bernie Kiernan (nee Smith), Drumgora, Stradone, Co. Cavan, Omard, Kilnaleck and Kiernan's Service Station Cavan. Monday, July 20th 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her parents Paddy and Nuala, sister-in-law Bridie and nephew Thomas. Deeply regretted by her loving husband and best friend Philip, her much loved children Dwayne (Sarah), Louise (Ahab) and Amy and her adoring grand-daughter Birdie. Sadly missed by her sister Trish, aunt Mai McDonagh, uncle Phil Cullen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace

Reposing at Lakeland's Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, tomorrow Tuesday from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Removal from her home on Wednesday to arrive at St. Dympna's Church, Upper Lavey for Funeral Mass at 12noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu of flowers to Cavan Palliative Care, in care of PJ Brady, Funeral Director. The funeral mass can be viewed on our page.
