Have you ever found yourself thinking, “But nothing bad happened…” while struggling with anxiety, people-pleasing, self-doubt, overwhelm, or feeling stuck in patterns you can’t explain?

Join me on July 18th from 10am–3pm for a powerful and insightful workshop exploring how experiences that may have seemed “not that bad” can still leave lasting imprints on our nervous system, relationships, and sense of self.

Together we’ll explore:
✨ The hidden impact of attachment wounds and developmental trauma
✨ Why your body remembers what your mind may have forgotten
✨ The neuroscience of trauma and healing
✨ How shame, hypervigilance, and emotional triggers develop
✨ Practical tools to support regulation, resilience, and recovery

This workshop is designed to be informative, compassionate, and empowering, offering both professional insights and practical takeaways you can use in everyday life.

Places are limited to just 16 participants to allow for a safe, supportive, and interactive experience.

📩 PM me for the booking link and secure your place early.

Early experiences shape the nervous system. Explore how the body holds stress and survival responses from events never processed.
Where does your body carry your stress?
As you read this, notice your body...
Is there tightness in your shoulders?
A heaviness in your chest?
A knot in your stomach?
A jaw that stays slightly clenched?
Many of us carry stress in our bodies without realising it.
In this workshop we will gently explore where the body holds these patterns of tension and protection. Through guided reflection and simple body awareness exercises, you’ll begin to notice what your own body may be holding, and where those patterns may have come from. An invitation for particpiants to spend some time gently scanning the body with curiosity to notice where stress and old stories may still live.
This workshop is designed to help participants understand, process, and reframe disturbing memories and experiences that are often dismissed or minimised. Drawing on both personal experience and clinical insights, this workshop offers a safe, supportive space to explore the subtle yet lasting effects of these early attachment wounds, and the body’s response to stress. Let’s get curious about what’s beneath the surface.

Last Saturday, I had the privilege of facilitating a workshop for the IACP on ‘When Nothing Bad Happened.’

I was genuinely delighted to be met by a full room of therapists willing to explore a topic that is often overlooked in conversations about trauma and emotional distress. Amazed at the turn out to be honest.

Together, we examined the quieter experiences that can leave lasting imprints on our nervous systems and sense of self, experiences that may not fit conventional definitions of trauma, yet can shape attachment, self-worth, relationships, and emotional wellbeing throughout life.

One of the most meaningful aspects of the day was the openness and curiosity in the room as we considered how minimised, dismissed, or difficult experiences can continue to influence people long after the event itself has passed.

Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, and engaged so thoughtfully with the material. I left feeling grateful, encouraged, and hopeful about the growing recognition of these often unseen experiences.

I recently received an enquiry about my upcoming workshop starting again on July 18th, 10am-3pm. Here’s part of the conversation (shared with permission). ✨

Person 1: Hi. I’m interested in your workshop, but I’m not sure if it’s for me. What will I actually get from attending?

Me: Great question. The workshop is designed to help people understand why they think, feel, and react the way they do.

Person 1: Can you explain that a bit more?

Me: Of course. Many people struggle with anxiety, overthinking, people-pleasing, low self-worth, emotional overwhelm, or relationship difficulties without realising these patterns often have roots in earlier life experiences.

Person 1: So is it only for people who have experienced major trauma?

Me: Not at all. Many people come because they know they’re stuck in patterns they want to change, even if they don’t think they’ve experienced trauma.

Person 1: And what will I leave with?

Me: You’ll leave with a better understanding of yourself, why certain situations affect you the way they do, how your nervous system responds to stress, and practical tools you can start using immediately. Most importantly, you’ll begin to see yourself with more compassion and less self-blame.

Person 1: That sounds like exactly what I need.

Me: If you’re curious and would like more details, send me a PM and I’ll be happy to help. Places are limited to keep it a small compact safe and confidential space. ✨

If you’ve been telling yourself “I’m safe now” for years, hoping your body will finally catch up and settle…

Stop.

💥 Here’s the truth no one tells you: your body doesn’t speak in thoughts. It speaks in sensation, memory, and survival signals.

So while your brain may be saying, “You’re fine,” your nervous system is still scanning the room for danger, convinced it’s safer to shut down than soften.

Save this post if that’s ever felt familiar. 🤍

The real mistake? Thinking logic can override lived trauma.

Safety isn’t something we declare. It’s something we relearn, slowly, gently, through experience.

Here’s what helps:

🔹 The body stores patterns of protection, not problems.

If closeness feels overwhelming, your body’s not betraying you. It’s remembering when closeness led to pain. Healing begins by validating this, not pushing past it.

Ask: When does safety feel like too much? That’s where the real work starts.

🔹 Cognitive reassurance rarely reaches the parts of you holding fear.

That flutter in your chest or pull to retreat? It lives deeper than thought. EMDR meets you there, helping untangle protective memory so your body can finally exhale.

🔹 We don’t “outthink” trauma, we repattern it.

Traditional talk therapy can offer insight, but EMDR allows your system to update. One memory at a time. One felt shift at a time.

If you’ve ever felt stuck reconciling “I know I’m safe” with “but my body won’t agree,” you’re not alone.

But in just a few sessions, some clients begin noticing: “I didn’t flinch this time. I reached for connection instead of away from it.”

Comment EMDR, and ill send you the link to my workshop on July 18th in Clondalkin so you can stop forcing what your body is still fighting, and start feeling safe again in your own relationships, mind, and nervous system.

The 5 hour workshop will help you understand the fear you’ve stored in your body and where it comes from. A safe space to sit with difficult memories. ✨

After the first workshop in April I received some thoughtful reflections from participants.
I’m genuinely grateful to everyone who showed up with openness, honesty, and courage.
Hearing what resonated, and what people are carrying forward, means a great deal. 🤍

“What if something did happen… even if you can’t quite name it?”

Many of the patterns we carry, anxiety, chronic tension, emotional overwhelm, physical symptoms, don’t always come from obvious events.

Sometimes they come from experiences that were never fully processed…
or were too early, too subtle, or too normalised to recognise at the time.

This workshop is for people who are curious about:
• why they feel the way they feel
• how their body might be holding past experiences
• and how to begin listening to that, gently

🗓 Next Workshop: Saturday July 18th
📍 Clondalkin, Dublin 22

If something here resonates, you’re very welcome to join. Pm me to secure your place and I’ll send you the booking link.
