We continue our TAQA visits this week, catching up with some of our regular faculty members across a range of training locations.

These visits provide an opportunity to observe our faculty in their dual roles as Trainers and Assessors, ensuring that the high standards expected of C-TAC are consistently maintained. Training, Assessment Quality Assurance is about more than compliance, it is about protecting the integrity, reputation, and quality associated with both the C-TAC and PHECC brands wherever training takes place.

It’s also a reminder that effective Quality Assurance often happens behind the scenes. It requires time, flexibility, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to doing things right. Through ongoing support, observation, and continuous improvement, we help ensure that every learner receives the highest standard of education and assessment.

We're excited to introduce our new C-TAC branded Ten Second Triage (TST) Prompt Cards. These sturdy, credit card-sized guides are designed to support learners mastering the new TST skill, which will feature in the 2026 First Aid Response Education and Training Standards and Clinical Practice Guidelines.
These pocket-sized cards provide a quick-reference aid for rapid casualty assessment and prioritisation during multiple-casualty incidents, helping responders make effective decisions when every second counts.
Used alongside out Ten Second Triage Wallets, learners have access to a practical and effective triage system that includes colour-coded slap bands for casualty prioritisation.
Another great addition to the growing range of C-TAC learner resources, helping build confidence, competence, and preparedness in emergency care.

Blended FAR Trial Update at C-TAC.
Our 8 participants successfully completed 9 hours of online learning at their own pace, using a mixture of Apple, Android, and Windows devices throughout the programme.

This weekend, we delivered the in-person classroom element of the course, consisting of 1.5 days of practical training and assessment, totalling 9 classroom hours.

The blended learning format allowed participants to complete theory components in their own time while ensuring all practical skills, scenarios, and assessments were delivered face-to-face to the required PHECC Education and Training Standards.
This trial provided our senior faculty and IT partners https://fusionweb.ie with valuable feedback on learner experience, platform performance, accessibility across multiple systems, and the overall effectiveness of blended First Aid Response training. Another important step forward as we continue refining our programme ahead of submission to PHECC.

Progress update at C-TAC. We have continued developing our Learning Management System with our IT partners https://fusionweb.ie, we’ve now reached another major milestone.

Our bespoke Learning Management System is now fully built and ready for testing.

This week, we’ve enrolled 8 of our former learners onto our Trial - First Aid Response Blended learning programme as part of our trial rollout. Participants will complete 9 hours of online learning at their own pace, followed by 1 and a half days in the classroom the next weekend to complete the remaining 9 hours.

This pilot programme will be delivered by our Director of Training and independently monitored by two experienced instructors, ensuring objectivity, quality, and alignment with best practice.

This phase is all about refining the learner experience, validating our approach, and making sure everything works exactly as it should before we submit our application to PHECC.

We’re getting closer to delivering flexible, modern, PHECC-aligned training that truly meets the needs of today’s learners.

This has been a detailed and focused process to ensure our learners receive accurate, engaging, and high-quality content throughout their blended learning journey.

Next step: working closely with our IT partners to bring these scripts to life within our LMS.

We’re getting closer to delivering flexible, modern, PHECC-aligned training that meets the demands of modern learning.
