Have you ever learned something so cool you wish you had known about it sooner??
That’s exactly how I felt when I first learned about the Circle of Security….
I am proud to have been part of the first Irish group ever trained as COSP facilitators in 2016. 🇮🇪
I had been a mum for 12 years at that point.
Luckily it is never too late to learn new things as a parent!🌱
My Circle of Security groups have become one of the most energising, fulfilling and cup-filling aspects of my work with parents at The Swallow’s Trail.
The groups connect and support each other as parents in such beautiful ways, it is a real privilege for me to hold the space for it.
Circle of Security is built on seeing our strengths as well as supporting ourselves in our struggles as parents.
It reduces feelings of isolation and stress.
It increases parental confidence and connection in families.
I have two new groups starting soon!
A Wednesday evening group beginning August 19th, 7.30-9.30pm and
A morning group starting Friday, September 4th, 9.45-11.45am.
My hope in deciding the timing was to support parents and children with new beginnings and back to school transitions!

This line really stood out to me in a recent testimonial I received.
It says so much about what is possible when parents engage in ongoing parent support.
The power of doing the work in a safe place.
Even when things feel bleak,
And hard,
There is always hope. ✨
I truly believe that parents are the best source of support for their children and teens when they are struggling, once they are receiving the support they need and deserve for themselves 💕
This is why I created my service!

I was sent this beautiful image along with a very kind message earlier in the week by another therapist ✨
Seeing other people grow and shine brings me huge joy and deep pride!
Seeing those wins get transferred into benefiting the parent child connection keeps me feeling passionate and connected to my work. 💫
Sometimes it is when:
🫶A parent is inspired and motivated by something we have learned in our conversations together.
🫶A parent leaves our session feeling less worried and more hopeful
🫶When a parent can see the impact of their listening, presence and communication
🫶A parent has committed to deepening their work with me so they can support their child or teen through a challenging or uncertain time
🫶 My Circle of Security parents get to really dive into this in our 8 week groups. This is really a cup filling part of my work, especially when they choose to stay on for follow on circles!
🫶The student therapists I get to work with - I love being part of the growth and development of child therapists! That’s very special to me!
🫶and last but not least- seeing amazing friends and colleagues in business grow their resilience and succeed

This beautiful message arrived into my inbox today…….
It made me stop and think about the amazing impact Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) is having.
A ripple effect that continues long after the course ends!
I am happy and proud to be able to share the messages with parents,
But I am most proud of and happy for the parents who take the journey with me.
It’s so hard to put into words what that means to me in my work.
