Seeing the same conversations repeatedly online can be overwhelming, especially if you've experienced an eating disorder or struggle with body image.

Remember, you are allowed to protect yourself. Curating your social media feed, taking breaks, and reaching out for support are all healthy ways to look after your mental wellbeing.

Recovery deserves more space than comparison.

Recovery can sometimes feel like climbing a mountain.

Some days the next step feels hard. Some days you may wonder if you’re making any progress at all.

But you don’t have to see the whole path to keep moving forward.

One step. One choice. One day at a time.

The journey doesn’t have to be perfect to be progress.

Sometimes the signs are right there in front of us. ✨ A good fashion day too; the colour of my top matched the writing on the stone. 😂⛰️

An important conversation around GLP-1 medications and eating disorders.

GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro have become increasingly common, particularly for weight management. But for someone living with an eating disorder, or with a history of disordered eating, the conversation can be much more complex.

Because these medications can significantly reduce appetite and food intake, they may reinforce restrictive behaviours, increase preoccupation with weight, food and body image, and potentially interfere with eating disorder recovery.

The potential impact on eating-disorder behaviours, psychological wellbeing and recovery mustn't be overlooked when discussing GLP-1 medications.

Eating disorders are about far more than weight or appearance. Someone can be struggling significantly without looking “underweight” or visibly unwell.

This is a conversation that deserves greater awareness, understanding and care.

If you or someone you know has a history of disordered eating, seek appropriate professional guidance. DM me for more information.

Some messages about food, weight, and body image can stay with us for a lifetime.

This is why early intervention and access to evidence-based support matter. Eating disorders are serious mental health conditions, not a choice or a lifestyle.

Recovery is possible at any age, and it's never too late to ask for help.

Do you feel like food is always on your mind? Maybe you spend your day following food rules, but do you even realise they're food rules? Or have they become so normal because diet culture taught you they were 'healthy'? Maybe you feel proud when you stick to the plan and ashamed when you don't. Maybe you tell yourself, 'Tomorrow I'll do better.' Living in this cycle can be exhausting and slowly take away your enjoyment of life. Your relationship with food is not just about what you eat; it's about your thoughts, emotions, confidence, and how you see yourself. You deserve a relationship with food that feels peaceful, not stressful. Save this post if you need this reminder, or DM for more information.

One of the books that has stayed with me is "Why Love Matters by Sue Gerhardt.

One message from the book really stands out:

Our earliest experiences shape us, but they don't have to define us.

So many people I work with carry shame about the ways they've coped. But those coping strategies often developed when they were simply doing the best they could with the resources they had.

Healing isn't about blaming the past.

It's about understanding it, finding compassion for yourself, and discovering new ways to live.

Because your story doesn't end where it began.

Why Love Matters by Sue Gerhardt is a book I'd recommend to anyone wanting to better understand the connection between our early relationships, our nervous system, and our capacity to heal.
