That “small” ankle injury might be telling you something!

Summer brings more movement from walking holidays and outdoor activities to returning to sports and spending more time on your feet.

But it can also bring changes your body isn’t always prepared for. Increased activity, uneven surfaces and even switching to less supportive footwear can place extra stress on your ankles.

A rolled ankle or recurring ni**le can seem easy to ignore, but without the right recovery, it can lead to ongoing stiffness, weakness and reduced confidence in your movement.

The goal isn’t just to settle the pain.

It’s to understand what’s causing the issue, restore mobility, rebuild strength and help your body handle what you want it to do.

At CP Clinic, our team helps you recover properly so you can keep moving with confidence.

If your ankle is affecting how you move, book an assessment with our team today.

Most people don’t just want pain to settle - they want to move better, feel stronger, and get back to normal life without worrying about symptoms returning.

At CP Clinic, that’s the focus.

We work with people dealing with everything from recent injuries to long-standing or recurring issues, helping them understand what’s actually driving their symptoms and how to improve it properly.

The goal isn’t quick fixes, it’s lasting change in how your body moves and functions. That means improving strength, restoring mobility and building confidence in how your body handles daily demands again.

Because when movement improves, pain often follows.

Massage therapy is often thought of as purely for relaxation, but clinically it plays a much broader role in supporting how your body moves and functions.

At CP Clinic, it’s used to help address muscle tension, improve soft tissue quality and support recovery in a way that’s tailored to the individual.

Whether you’re dealing with ongoing tightness, recovering from activity or just noticing reduced mobility, it can be an effective way to help restore how your body feels and performs.

If something doesn’t feel right, it’s worth getting it assessed properly.

Tennis is a high-intensity, repetitive sport - quick direction changes, explosive serves and constant rotation through the shoulders, hips, and lower back.

Because of that, even small issues can creep in quickly:
• A sore shoulder after serving
• Elbow pain when hitting forehands or backhands
• Tightness in the lower back after matches
• Knee or ankle discomfort from sudden changes in direction
• Stiffness that shows up the day after playing

A lot of players try to push through it… especially if they’re still able to play.

But what often starts as a small ni**le can gradually affect performance, consistency and confidence on court.

At CP Clinic, we don’t just look at the area that hurts, we assess how your body is moving as a whole to find the root cause of the problem.

Treatment may include physiotherapy, osteopathy, dry needling, soft tissue therapy and targeted rehabilitation to help restore movement, reduce pain and prevent recurrence.

The goal isn’t just to get you back playing, it’s to keep you playing at your best.

Staying active is one of the best things young people can do but when training, matches and growth all overlap, the body can come under more pressure than it’s ready for.

Small issues are often easy to ignore at the start, but they rarely stay small if they’re left too long.

A quick check, the right advice or a simple adjustment can make a big difference, not just in the short term, but in how they move and perform long term.

If something doesn’t feel right, it’s worth getting it looked at early.

Festival season and wedding season often means long periods spent in heels 👠

Even a single day in heels can lead to:
• Sore feet
• Tight calf muscles
• Lower back discomfort

This is due to the way heels alter normal biomechanics. They shift your body weight forward, increasing load through the forefoot and placing additional stress on the calves, ankles and lower back. When this happens, the muscles and joints work harder than usual to maintain balance and posture, which can result in post-activity stiffness or discomfort.

In most cases, symptoms settle with early management, which may include:
✔ Reducing load where possible
✔ Gentle mobility work for the calves and feet
✔ Avoiding prolonged periods of aggravation

However, if discomfort is persisting beyond a few days, it may indicate that underlying stiffness or dysfunction has been irritated and should be assessed.

If you’re still feeling the effects after a weekend or event, it’s worth getting it checked properly.
