My article on "Reversal of Cirrhosis".

A legacy of service. A family known for goodwill. And a book written not merely as a profession, but as a responsibility.

In this heartfelt address, Hon’ble Justice Jasti Chelameswar speaks about his long association with Dr. Somasekhar’s family, tracing it back through four generations to their roots in Nimmakuru, Krishna district.

He reflects on the family’s reputation for charity and service, and why Dr. Somasekhar’s decision to write about liver health is a natural continuation of that legacy.

His message also carries an important reminder: understanding the risks to our health allows us to make informed choices.

A beautiful tribute to Dr. Somasekhar, his family legacy, and his commitment to health awareness.

*🇮🇳 Happy Independence Day! | Freedom Begins with Good Health*

This Independence Day, let’s celebrate the freedom to live a healthier life by taking care of one of our body’s most vital organs — the liver.

Your liver works silently every day to support digestion, metabolism, detoxification and overall health. Conditions such as fatty liver disease, hepatitis and liver cirrhosis can progress quietly, often without obvious symptoms in the early stages.

Protect your liver by:
• Maintaining a healthy weight
• Eating a balanced, nutritious diet
• Limiting alcohol consumption
• Staying physically active
• Avoiding unnecessary medications or supplements
• Getting regular health check-ups when at risk

A healthy liver supports a healthier tomorrow.

On this Independence Day, let’s celebrate freedom by making informed choices for our health and encouraging our loved ones to do the same.

In my consulting room, the hardest sentences are the ones I have to say too late. I have watched it happen for over twenty years. A person walks in feeling perfectly well. No pain. No warning. And the scan tells me the liver has been quietly suffering for years, long before they ever felt a thing.

That is the cruelty of liver disease. It does not shout. It waits. By the time it finally speaks, much of the damage is already done.

I wrote this book because I was tired of meeting people at the end of that story, when I wished I could have met them at the beginning.

The liver asks for so little. It forgives a great deal. But it will not warn you the way your heart does, with a pain in the chest, or your eyes do, with a blur. Its silence is not health. Its silence is simply patience running out.

So let me say to you what I wish I could say to every patient before it is too late:

Feeling fine is not the same as being fine. Get your liver checked while it still has nothing to complain about.

Today, at Yashoda Hospitals,Hitech city, Hyderabad, we launched "The Last Warning" the book I wish every one of my patients had read five years before they came to me. To launch it here, in the place where so many of these conversations happen every day, made it deeply meaningful. And placing the first copies into the hands of my patients, the very people it was written for, meant more to me than anything said from the stage.

My heartfelt gratitude to Sri Jasthi Chelameswar garu, Former Judge of Supreme Court of India, Dr Byreddi Shabari garu, MP - Loksabha, Dr G S Rao garu, MD, Yashoda hospitals for gracing the occasion, to the management of Yashoda Hospitals for the platform and the trust, and to the team at The Health Convo for helping me carry these consulting-room conversations to the people who need them most.

Your liver has been silent . This book will not be.
