There's a Japanese word — rouiro (漆色) — that describes the deep, quiet black of traditional lacquerware. It's the colour of something that has been refined, layer by layer, over centuries.
It's also the name of this finish on the Japonism DEISS — a full-rim titanium frame designed and handcrafted in Sabae, Fukui, Japan's legendary eyewear capital.
Japonism was founded in 1996 with one clear mission: to bring the craft of Japan to the world. Every frame takes over 5 months and 400 individual operations to complete — the majority done by hand, by craftspeople who have spent decades mastering their trade.
The DEISS is for those who find beauty in restraint. Clean lines, an architectural silhouette, and a finish that speaks without raising its voice.
Come and experience it in person at Visiokraft Optometrist. Some things are worth seeing for yourself.
