Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City was honoured to host the Mass Graduation and National Dementia Awareness Campaign, a meaningful initiative organised by the Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM) in collaboration with Rotary International, dedicated to recognising caregivers and advancing dementia awareness within the community.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including YB Dato’ Hajjah Hanifah Hajar Taib, Deputy Minister of Health Malaysia, who officiated the Mass Graduation Ceremony themed “Unlocking Hope: Dementia Care Skill Training Courses”. The occasion also marked the official launch of the ADFM Dementia Care Champions Network and the announcement of ADFM’s journey towards the Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) accreditation framework, representing a significant milestone in strengthening dementia care training standards in Malaysia.

Also in attendance were Puan Sri Wendy Ong, Patron of ADFM; Tan Sri Hasmah Binti Abdullah, Chairman of the Executive Committee of ADFM; Dato’ Jeffrey Ng, President of ADFM; Dr Seow Vei Ken, Chief Medical Director of Sunway Healthcare Group; Erica Lam, Chief Executive Officer of Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City; and representatives from Rotary District 3300.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all graduates and our sincere appreciation to ADFM, Rotary International, and all partners for their unwavering commitment to dementia advocacy, education, and caregiver empowerment.

𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗽𝗮𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲.

The SunMed International Paediatric Symposium 2026 concluded two days of multidisciplinary learning and knowledge exchange under the theme, “Integrating Subspecialties for Complex Paediatric Care”.

Featuring 34 paediatric consultants across 18 subspecialties, the symposium centred on real clinical cases and multidisciplinary discussions, demonstrating how different specialties come together in the management of complex paediatric conditions.

The symposium also welcomed speakers from across Sunway Healthcare Group; Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC); Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences; Apollo Hospitals, India; and Prince of Songkla University and Ramathibodi Hospital, Thailand.

Beyond clinical discussions, the programme provided an opportunity for healthcare professionals to connect, exchange perspectives and strengthen collaboration in advancing paediatric care.

Our recent SunMed Coffee Talk Series on Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) brought together patients, caregivers, and the community for an insightful session on the condition, its diagnosis, and treatment options.

The session was made even more meaningful by the active participation and engaging Q&A, with attendees taking the opportunity to ask questions and deepen their understanding of ALL and blood cancer care.
