After independence the Fund was established with the aim of providing Namibian Farmers with Medical Aid to ensure medical cover and certainty. In collaboration with the Medical Aid Funds Act 23 of 1995 NAMMED was registered NAMFISA and adhered to all the regulatory requirements. During 1999 Old Mutual decided to terminate its health-services. The Board of Trustees appointed Paramount Health Care &
Employee Benefits in 1999 as the Fund's new administrator and it has thus far provided excellent Service. Nammed Medical Aid Fund has gone from strength to strength and for 2014 the Trustees implemented the Lifestages approach, offering a range of products to suit everyone.
