World Hepatitis Awareness Day reminds us of the importance of early testing, vaccination, and education. By raising awareness, we can reduce stigma, promote prevention, and save lives.

Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver, most commonly caused by viral infections (Hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E). It can lead to serious health complications if left untreated, but many forms are preventable and treatable.

Know your status. Protect your liver. Take action.

What an incredible week it has been, from 15โ€“19 June 2026. As we reflect, we are deeply grateful to the sponsors and stakeholders whose support made this initiative possible. Through this collective effort, 57 surgeries were performed, changing the lives of 45 patients and positively impacting their families as well.

Thank you to the faculty who traveled to share their expertise and work alongside our teams, and to the local delegates who are eager to learn, so this impact will continue long into the future. A special thank you to the Ministry of Health and Social Services-Namibia - together, we are truly changing lives.
