ch’ between Central Otago’s leading funeral directors Affinity and the region’s oldest family-run funeral business Campbell & Sons in Mosgiel. Affinity was started in 2009 by friends and Alexandra locals Janice Millis and Lynley Claridge after the death of seven close family members prompted Lynley to think about setting up the business. The merger began in 2020 with both businesses learning from each other and coming together with a goal to provide the best standard of funeral care across Otago. This has included upskilling staff, with additional training in best practices, hiring new people, streamlining administration, including centralising design and printing, and upgrading Affinity’s venue, The Cellar Door.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Gav who lost his battle after a very brief illness; surrounded by his loving family and friends at Dunstan Hospital on June 8, 2026; Aged 65.

Deeply loved husband and best friend of Karen, cherished Dad of Taine, Jade and Tayla. Adored grandad Gav of Kora-lee. Beloved son of Rona and Stuart*, loved son-in-law of Ann and Keith*.
