Shared values of responding to the needs of their clients at a difficult time, giving back to their local community and creating unique memorable celebrations, has led to a ‘perfect match’ between Central Otago’s leading funeral directors Affinity and the region’s oldest family-run funeral business Campbell & Sons in Mosgiel. Affinity was started in 2009 by friends and Alexandra locals Janice Millis and Lynley Claridge after the death of seven close family members prompted Lynley to think about setting up the business. The merger began in 2020 with both businesses learning from each other and coming together with a goal to provide the best standard of funeral care across Otago. This has included upskilling staff, with additional training in best practices, hiring new people, streamlining administration, including centralising design and printing, and upgrading Affinity’s venue, The Cellar Door.

On Saturday October 24, 2026, Amber passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends; aged 41 years.

Devoted mother of Ashlyn, and Bowie, loving wife to Shane, cherished daughter of Robyn and Brian, and sister to Lee, and newly found sister to Heidi, Kirk, PJ, & Claire, and the bestest bestie to Anna, Abby, Camyce, Dee, & Ange.

A service to celebrate Amber's life will be held at The Orchard Garden, 756 Dunstan Road, Alexandra at 2.00pm on Wednesday October 28 followed by a final cruise. Children are of course welcome.

Loved husband of Lee, very much-loved Dad of Trevor and Colleen, Ann-Maree and Jason Lines, Andrew and Emma, and Sarah-Jane, loved Poppa of Lily, Vinny, and Quade; Auriel, Shelisa, Crystalyn, and Taraleigh; Lilly; Ashton, Georgia, and Hamish, and Great-Poppa of Avanaliya, and a loved brother, brother-in-law, and uncle of his brothers, sisters, and their families. A service to celebrate Ewen's life will be held in the Clyde Volunteer Fire Brigade Station, 44 Sunderland Street, Clyde at 11.00am on Wednesday October 28, followed by burial at Clyde Cemetery.

Passed away peacefully on October 15, 2026 in the presence of family and loved ones, at Dunstan Hospital, aged 76 years old. Dearly loved husband of Glenys, brother-in-law to Leslye, father and father-in-law to Lucy and Garth, Georgia and John, stepfather to Jeremy and Melissa, Sally and Nick, Juliet, Jessica and Julian, loved brother of Martha and uncle to Jackson, very special Grandpa of Samantha, Alexandra, Lachlan, Jamie, Harry, Sam, Gus, Henry, Olivia, Hunter and Woody, Great Grandpa to Millie.

There will be a service to celebrate Mark's life in the All Saints Chapel at Purewa Cemetery and Crematorium, Auckland, at 2.00pm, on October 28. This will be followed by a second gathering in Wanaka to be arranged for a later date.

SMITH, Colleen Rita (nee White)

Passed away peacefully on 15 October at Ripponburn with her loving family by her side. Dearly loved wife of the late Everett, and a much-loved and treasured Mum of Graeme and Sue (Christchurch), Sharon and Lindsay (Alexandra), Denise (Cromwell), and Leonard and Sally (Motueka). A very special Nana to her 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

A celebration of Colleen’s life will be held at Cromwell Presbyterian Church on Friday 23 October at 11.00am, followed by interment at Cromwell Cemetery. The family warmly invites everyone to join them for a get-together following the service at the Alexandra District Club from 4.30pm.

RILEY, Amy Mary
24th June 1987 - 9th October 2026

On Friday October 9, Amy passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family. She received the most sensitive and loving care from all of the staff and medical teams in the ICU - we thank them for everything they did for her and her whole family while we were there.

Ever true to her loving, generous and serving spirit, her last selfless act was to bless three other families with very special gifts...through the organ donations of her heart, lungs and kidneys.

Even in our sadness, we find joy and comfort in the fact that she is now at peace in Heaven with our Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ and has been re-united with her beloved Mummy, Daddy and Chris - whom she missed so very much.

"She will always be treasured and loved dearly by all those who knew her and we thank everyone for their care, prayers and support.”

A service for Amy will be held in the Cromwell and District’s Presbyterian Church, 10 Elspeth Street, Cromwell, at 11:00am, on Monday October 19.

Much loved husband of Alison, cherished father and father-in-law & friend of Robyn & Chris, Wayne & Claire, Gary & Nicole, and Craig & Mel, adored grandfather of Emma, Calum, Katie, Ciara, Connor, Tom, Carter, and Hudson, and treasured great-grandfather of Ari, Lenny, and Raya.

A funeral service to celebrate Ed’s life will be held in the Upper Clutha Rugby Football Club, 15 McDougall Street, Wanaka, at 2.00pm on Monday, October 12.
