It's great that a pill improves cartilage thickness in MICE. Except that most things like this have not scaled up to a human size knee. Secondly, it's very clear from at least the last decade that knee pain is NOT related how how much cartilage change there is on your MRI. RNZ needs to not publish clickbait like this. Lots of harm in musculoskeletal medicine from passive treatments that don't work - false hope worsens the pain. Belief the that MRI changes are the source of the pain worsens the pain - stick with the science.

Stanford University scientists have had a major breakthrough that could lead to future knee injuries being repaired with a simple injection or oral medication.

Been told that your shoulder is sore because of rotator cuff tendinopathy or partial tears seen on MRI ? - new research shows these are "normalities" and NOT related to pain. Incidental Rotator Cuff Abnormalities on Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Tonight, our clinic took on a completely different feel as we swapped our usual sports wall memorabilia for a vibrant display of abstract art.
We were incredibly proud to host the first art exhibition of our very own Julianne Osborne, Don't Overthink It. Transforming the walls of the clinic into a gallery, Julianne showcased more than 27 stunning pieces, each created during a particularly challenging chapter of her life.
As Julianne shares:

"Welcome to Don't Overthink It, a show that celebrates the end of a challenging period and the beginning of something better. A celebration of strength, friends, family, struggle and overcoming the odds.
Over the past few months, colour has been my antidote. These pieces have brought me real joy to create, and I hope they bring something just as positive to you. They resist analysis, allowing instead for a spontaneous emotional response and possibly a mini-break from life's demands.

It was wonderful to see so many people come together to support Julianne, celebrate her creativity, and share in such a special evening. The atmosphere was filled with warmth, connection, and appreciation for the courage it takes to turn life's challenges into something beautiful.

Congratulations, Julianne, on a truly inspiring first exhibition. We are honoured that our clinic could provide the canvas for such a meaningful celebration of art, resilience, and hope.

360 Health is so proud of you xx

It's generally considered normal to have flat flexible feet, it's certainly the most common foot type. An orthotic causes 15% loss of muscle bulk in the foot within 12 weeks if prescribed for a medical condition. In contrast children who wear unsupportive minimally cushioned shoes have bigger leg muscles and run and jump better. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0966636221006378 https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0268003320301819

The tissue stress theory is commonly used to prescribe foot orthoses, however the mechanisms of foot orthoses are not understood well. The effect foot…

99% of people who attend their GP with low back pain have what has been called for 20 years -Non Specific Low Back Pain - disk bulges, arthritis, slipped disc, sprained back, strained back - all went out in the 20 teens. Good quality research over last 20 years showing that there are NO medications that work for non specific low back pain - lots of research in this space - see your GP to get it sorted - pretty straight forward when you use up to date research
