šŸ’œ Thank you to the families who have shared their Birthcare experience via Google reviews.

We're proud to have seen our Google review rating continue to improve, reaching 3.9 stars as we work hard to provide the best possible experience for Auckland families.

Your feedback helps us understand what we're doing well and where we can do better. Looking across recent reviews, three areas consistently stand out:

• Our people - Midwives, nurses, healthcare assistants, and support staff are regularly praised for their kindness, expertise, and encouragement during those important first days with a new baby.
• A supportive environment - Families value having a comfortable space to rest, recover, and focus on bonding with their pēpi.
• Meals and facilities - Many parents appreciate the quality of the food, private rooms, and facilities that help make their stay more comfortable.

We're also listening closely to feedback about where we can improve. Our focus areas include:
• Continuing to improve consistency of care and communication across all shifts and teams.
• Enhancing the overall patient experience during busy periods to ensure every family feels supported.
• Investing in our facilities and services to meet the evolving needs and expectations of new parents and whānau.

We’ve done amazing work in this space already!

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to leave a review. Your feedback helps shape the future of Birthcare and supports our commitment to delivering exceptional postnatal care.

Every sleep needs to be a safe sleep for our pēpi šŸ’›

This National Safe Sleep Day, remember the 4 Fs:

• Flat & firm bed
• Face up & clear
• Free from smoke & alcohol
• Family support

It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes a whole whānau to help keep pēpi safe. Fathers, aunties, grandparents, friends, we all play a part in creating a safe sleeping environment for baby.

Check in on a māmā today and make sure pēpi is sleeping safe. Together, we can protect our littlest ones.

Tālofa lava from the team at Birthcare

As we celebrate Samoan Language Week, we honour the richness of Gagana (language) Samoa and the important role language, culture and community play in nurturing families and future generations. ā¤ļø

At Birthcare, we are proud to support and care for the diverse communities of Aukilani (Auckland), including our Pasifika whānau.

ā€œā€˜E afua mai i mauga tetele manuia o le 'nu'uā€ – ā€œFrom the high mountains are the blessings of the village.ā€

A little Mother’s Day surprise arrived at Birthcare today

Thanks to DoorDash and St Pierres, our new mums and whānau were treated to heart-shaped sushi deliveries ahead of Mother’s Day, and the excitement was real!

One mum shared, ā€œIt has been 9 months of waiting for sushi!ā€

Thank you to everyone involved for helping create such a thoughtful moment for families during such a special chapter.

E Tū Whānau is a kaupapa Māori movement for positive change.

The kaupapa nurtures and celebrates:

- Te Ao Māori taking responsibility and action to create positive change
- Te mana kaha o te whānau! āˆ’ doing things that make whānau strong
- tikanga and Māori values āˆ’ drawing on rich and powerful traditions
- kahukura āˆ’ the people who lead and inspire change in whānau and communities.

The E Tū Whānau kaupapa was developed after extensive kōrero within Te Ao Māori about the values and behaviours that support strong, resilient whānau who are free from violence.

The violence-free and whānau centered kaupapa of E TÅ« Whānau is proudly Māori but it’s proving rich and inspirational to our refugee and migrant communities as well.

Congratulations to Tom Batten, Birthcare's Head Chef, for taking out first prize in the Nestle' Professional and Cater Plus staff bake-off competition.

Tom and his team consistently demonstrate dedication, creativity, and pride in their work. Their efforts are clearly reflected in the outstanding feedback received from Birthcare patients and whanau, who have the privilege of enjoying Tom's beautifully prepared and truly delectable meals.

All meals are approved by a Cater Plus nutritionist, ensuring they meet appropriate nutritional standards while maintaining quality and taste.

This recognition is a well deserved acknowledgement of the passion and excellence Tom brings to the Birthcare kitchen every day. Well done Tom!
