PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) now officially has a new name.
PMOS - Polyendochrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome, which better reflects the condition as a HORMONAL and METABOLIC set of issues rather than solely cycts on the ovaries (which some women with PMOS may not even display).
PMOS shows up as a set of combining factors such as excess androgen hormones, insulin resistance, weight gain and an erratic ovulatory cycle which may result in difficulties with fertility.
