Awareness in Healing: How Depression Influences Decisions & Awakening
Awareness is the first step in any true awakening or healing process. Without awareness, we react from pain rather than respond from clarity. With awareness, we begin to see what is really happening within us, instead of being completely identified with it.
Depression is often not just emptiness or sadness , it can be a deep signal that something within us is no longer aligned. But when we are in that state, it can also push us to make fast decisions, simply to escape the discomfort. We may move, change, or let go of things not from clarity, but from a place where the soul feels exhausted and overwhelmed.
This is why awareness is essential. It creates a small space between what we feel and what we do. In that space, we can pause long enough to ask: “Is this decision coming from truth, or from pain?”
Healing is not always about immediate action. Sometimes it is about staying present long enough to understand what the pain is trying to reveal. Because decisions made from a place of collapse can lead us further away from ourselves, while decisions made from awareness can gently bring us back home.
And often, the most important step is not to escape the feeling, but to listen to it.
