Early intervention matters.

CNA has featured the work of Centre For Psychotherapy and our PACT programme in supporting justice-involved individuals through counselling, family support and rehabilitation.

Accountability and change do not need to wait until after sentencing.

They can begin when a person is ready to face what happened, understand the roots of offending, involve their family and commit to building a safer path forward.

This work is not about excusing harm, it is about responsibility, repair, rehabilitation and safer communities.

To every individual and family who has shown up for therapy, support group, difficult conversations and the work of accountability, your courage matters.

Our sincere thanks to CNA and Senior Journalist Aslam Shah for covering this work with care, accuracy and balance.

Grateful also to the SG Courts, lawyers, correctional partners, families, community agencies and all who continue to strengthen pathways of support and accountability.

Please feel free to read, watch and share this forward with anyone who may find it meaningful or useful.

Last evening’s P.A.C.T. Support Group session was a clear indication of why upstream intervention matters.

In this room, individuals at different points of the justice process came together, some under investigation, some charged and awaiting sentencing, others returning post release to continue their rehabilitation journey.

What emerges in these spaces is more than a story of crime.
There is often a deeper story of struggle, pain and disrupted pathways and when accountability is held alongside reflection, structure and community, something meaningful begins to take shape, a new narrative grounded in responsibility, self awareness and the possibility of restoration.

The P.A.C.T. Programme brings together individual psychotherapy and structured support group sessions to intervene early, before sentencing and to sustain change beyond it.

This upstream approach creates space for individuals to pause, reflect on their journey and take ownership of the direction ahead. Supported, not isolated.

Sometimes, rehabilitation begins with something simple, a circle of chairs, honest conversations and the willingness to show up.

At the Centre for Psychotherapy, we remain committed to trauma informed, accountability focused and community anchored pathways that support meaningful change.
Early, ethically and with dignity.
