Founded in 1976, Home Nursing Foundation (HNF) is one of the largest and most established home nursing and healthcare service providers in Singapore. It is also the only provider that operates islandwide in Singapore. HNF delivers comprehensive care programmes that are dedicated to our patients, regardless of their income level. From nursing to medical care, to looking after patients’ social well-being and other practical daily needs, we bring care and support into the homes of those in need.

PT, OT and ST — what’s the difference? 🏡

In home care, each therapist plays a different role in supporting patients’ daily lives:

🔹 Physiotherapy (PT): Movement, strength and mobility
🔹 Occupational Therapy (OT): Daily activities and independence
🔹 Speech Therapy (ST): Swallowing and communication

While their approaches differ, they share one goal: helping patients function as safely and independently as possible at home.

💙 50 years of care. 50 years of making a difference. And many wishes for the years ahead.

At our HNF50 Gala, we invited our guests to leave a wish for HNF on our special HNF50 structure.

The messages reflected what HNF means to the people who have been part of our journey, from hopes for continued care and support, to wishes for more lives to be touched in the years ahead.

Now back at our office, these wishes remain a reminder of the community that has supported HNF over the past 50 years.

Meet Nurse Chitra, one of the nurses who has been part of HNF’s journey of care.

For Nurse Chitra, nursing was initially about clinical skills and completing the tasks at hand. Over time, she came to appreciate something deeper: being able to show up for someone during their most vulnerable moments is a privilege.

The moments that stay with her are often the simplest, a patient reaching out to hold her hand, a family finding reassurance after days of worry, or a caregiver becoming more confident after learning how to manage their loved one’s care.

These experiences continue to motivate her and remind her why the work she does matters.

As HNF turns 50, Nurse Chitra hopes that we will continue bringing care to every home and growing together as a supportive community for our patients, families and staff.
