Founded in 1976, Home Nursing Foundation (HNF) is one of the largest and most established home nursing and healthcare service providers in Singapore. It is also the only provider that operates islandwide in Singapore. HNF delivers comprehensive care programmes that are dedicated to our patients, regardless of their income level. Many families put off this conversation — until they no longer can. When a parent suddenly falls ill, the questions come all at once: Who takes on the care? How do we manage the finances? Who makes the medical decisions?

Our Head of Social Work, Teo Ying Ying, speaks to this in a recent Straits Times feature — and her message is simple: these conversations are easier before a crisis, not during one.

This Brain Awareness Month, let’s raise awareness about dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases while showing support for those providing care everyday.

Early awareness and understanding can help improve quality of life for both caregivers and persons living with dementia.

Caregiving can be physically and emotionally demanding, but small acts of patience and compassion can make a meaningful difference. 💙

Here are some simple Dos & Don’ts for caregivers:
✅ Be patient and reassuring
✅ Keep routines simple and familiar
❌ Don’t argue or rush them
❌ Don’t isolate yourself from support networks

Remember, caregivers need care too.

She came, she listened, and she made every senior feel seen. 💚

We were honoured to welcome Chancellor of the Singapore University of Social Sciences, Mdm Halimah Yacob to Home Nursing Foundation.

She shared laughs with our seniors at Hougang Senior Care Centre and Active Ageing Centre, sat with our home care team, and spent quiet, meaningful time with one of our patients at home. Every moment was a reminder: behind every visit, injection, or warm meal, there is a person who deserves to be cared for with dignity and joy. 🏠
