While many of these symptoms are common postpartum, that doesn’t mean you should have to navigate them without support or just “wait and see” if they improve on their own.

Postpartum recovery deserves rehab to. We would never expect someone to recovery from another major physical event without support or rehab guidance. Birth should not be different. Whether you’re 2 weeks or 20 years postpartum—pelvic floor therapy can support you.

Pelvic floor therapy is a specialized form of physical (or occupational) therapy focused on bladder, bowel, and sexual health. Pelvic floor therapists complete advanced training to assess and treat these intimate areas.

The pelvic floor doesn’t work in isolation. It’s influenced by your core, hips, rib cage, low back—even your feet. That’s why my approach goes beyond the pelvic floor itself, looking at how your whole body moves and functions together.

Because pelvic floor therapy isn’t just about managing symptoms.

The Pelvic Shift—a physical therapy practice in Abilene, Texas specializing in pelvic floor therapy.

I created this space because pelvic health deserves more attention and more understanding. Around here, we talk about things that are often brushed off or kept quiet, things society labels as “normal”—all in a manner that makes you feel as comfortable as possible.

Specializing in pelvic health means that I help both women and men through everything from pelvic pain and urinary incontinence to pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and beyond. Pelvic floor health matters for everyone at all ages, in every season!

Pelvic floor therapy is so much more than kegels. Effective care requires a full body & lifestyle treatment approach for complete healing. It’s about how your entire body works together: your breath, your core, your posture, your movement patterns, your nervous system.
