Congratulations to Kayla Gault, PT, DPT, OnCS, CLT on being named a 2026 APTA Emerging Leader! 🎉

This award recognizes PTs who, within their first 5–10 years in the field, have already made a real mark through leadership, advocacy, and service to the profession — and Kayla embodies exactly that.

A Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Oncologic Physical Therapy, Kayla practices with the Oncology Rehabilitation Staff at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – The James, and serves on the faculty of their Oncology Rehabilitation Residency Program, helping train the next generation of oncology-specialized PTs. She also serves as Secretary of the APTA Academy of Oncologic Physical Therapy’s Residency Special Interest Group, contributing to residency training standards nationwide.

As oncology rehab specialists ourselves, we know the dedication this work takes — and we’re so glad to see it recognized. Congratulations, Kayla! 👏

Look for this year’s Emerging Leaders in the November issue of PT Magazine.

Happy Cancer Rehab Month!

APTA Oncology is excited to announce our social media campaign to spread the word and enthusiasm to celebrate Cancer Rehab Month. We are inviting clinicians and patients to share what cancer rehab means to them by posting about or demonstrating what makes them feel strong.

This is meant to encompass PT, OT, SLP, and PM&R disciplines. It could be something as simple as a grip strength assessment, or a 30 second chair rise test. The intent is to get people to engage on social media with the hashtag.

Please share these fliers on your social media, and in your clinics! One is meant to be clinician facing, and the other is patient facing.
