A space for the community to relax, restore and reduce muscle tension through therapeutic massage. Whether you want to relax, work on tension & stress relief, pain reduction, joint mobility and many other benefits - we are here to help. We schedule our sessions by time preference. You get the full amount of hands on work scheduled. Through the health intake form and our discussion with you at the beginning of your appointment, we assess and use that knowledge to give you the best treatment at that time. We combine our continuing education knowledge (specialties) in to your session, rather than choosing add-ons, as we find that can get confusing for clients and we may have a technique that would benefit your health. Pregnancy massage is the only other option besides the time preferences and is available with Karen, as she has specific knowledge and setup for this. A little update to make booking easier!

We have a new AI receptionist here at Rooted in Wellness. If we’re with a client and can’t get to the phone, our virtual receptionist can help answer questions & assist with making appointments. If you need a little extra help, it can pass your message along so we can give you a call back.

The honest answer is.. it depends.

Every body is different & so are the seasons of our lives. Your ideal massage schedule may change depending on your stress levels, activity, physical needs, and what you have going on in life.

If you’re able to receive massage BEFORE you’re really “feeling like you need it”, it may help you stay ahead of tension and continue feeling your best over time.

For chronic or ongoing areas of discomfort, it can sometimes take several consistent sessions before you begin to notice a more meaningful difference. We often recommend starting with a few sessions closer together and then adjusting from there based on how your body responds.

But there is no magic number. Do what works best for you!

Whether that means a massage every few weeks, once a month, or simply when you feel like you need some extra care.. we’re here to meet you where you are.

For those who do benefit from more frequent care, we offer massage packages that make regular visits a little easier on the wallet.

One of my favorite answers from my teacher, Dr. Jay, is…

“It depends.”

Ayurveda isn’t about labeling foods as ‘good’ or ‘bad’. It’s about understanding YOU - your body, your digestion, your lifestyle & what helps you feel your best.

When it comes to carbonated drinks, there are a few things to consider.
Carbonation can increase Vata, which may contribute to bloating, gas or digestive discomfort in some people. It may also increase acidity in the digestive tract for some.

The one thing Ayurveda is consistent on? ICE COLD DRINKS AREN’T IDEAL FOR DIGESTION 🫣 I know… it’s a tough one for people in the United States. Choosing beverages that are warm or at least not chilled is better for digestion.

Does that mean you can never enjoy a sparkling water or your favorite pop? Not at all.

Maybe it’s something you enjoy occasionally. Maybe you notice it doesn’t agree with you & decide it’s worth limiting. Or maybe you choose to have it, understanding how your body responds & find other things you can do to help.

Awareness is more powerful than restriction. Small steps. Lasting wellness 🌿

The mind affects the body & the body affects the mind.

How we sleep, the food we eat, our daily routines, our stress levels, and even our thoughts all work together to shape how we feel.

In Ayurveda, caring for the mind is just as important as caring for the body.

That doesn’t mean pretending everything is perfect or forcing yourself to be positive all the time. It means gently guiding your mind toward what is good, even on the hard days.

A simple habit of reminding yourself what you’re grateful for can help shift your perspective. It doesn’t erase life’s challenges, but it can keep the tendency to focus on what we don’t have from taking over.

Painful doesn’t always mean productive.

One of the biggest myths about massage is that it has to hurt to work.

While some areas can be especially tender, the pressure shouldn’t feel unbearable. If it’s so intense that you can’t take a nice deep breath, your body starts to protect itself. Instead of letting go, your muscles begin to brace.

That’s why we encourage clients to speak up. Pressure isn’t one size fits all & can even change from one appointment to the next depending on stress, activity, sleep or how your body is feeling that day.

🗝️The goal isn’t to see how much pressure you can tolerate. The goal is to help your body feel safe enough to let go.

The most effective massage works WITH your nervous system, not against it. We meet you where you are and encourage change at a pace your body is ready accept.

Communication is part of every great massage, and your feedback helps us find the pressure that’s just right for you!
