It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Gavin Joseph White, 15, of Vernon, New Jersey. He passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

When we think of Gavin, the first thing that comes to mind is the sheer warmth he brought into every room. Gavin was a bright light in all of our lives. His dimpled smile was infectious, and no one was immune from its power. It was impossible to stay unhappy when Gavin was smiling at you.

Gavin attended Sussex County Technical School in Sparta, New Jersey, where he was part of the Cinema program. He also participated in cross country, bringing the same dedication and energy to athletics that he brought to everything he did. Gavin had a deep love for movies, both watching them and creating them, and he found joy in storytelling and creativity.

He had a remarkable curiosity about the world and a true love of learning.

Outside of school, Gavin loved being at the beach and swimming, where he felt most at peace. He also loved food, and everyone knew his favorite was pizza. He was always willing to lend a hand around the house and was known for being helpful, kindhearted, and dependable.

He had a quiet brilliance about him. His sense of humor brought laughs and delight to all of us—especially if you were quick enough and good enough to catch the subtlety of his wit. He kept us on our toes, and listening to him was always an adventure. Whether he was simply talking about his day or casually throwing quantum string theory at you, he was always an absolute joy to listen to. He had a mind that fascinated us and a heart that anchored us.

Above all, Gavin will be remembered for his warmth, intelligence, humor, and gentle heart. The memories he created with his family and friends will be treasured always, and his light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved him.

Survivors: His loving parents, Jeffrey D. and Stephanie L. (Gomez) White; sister, Cassidy Rae White; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Nancy Gomez and Patricia Gomez; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Suzanne Draeger; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members; many dear friends and classmates who felt like family to him. Gavin, you are forever in our hearts.

We love you, Bud.

Services: Gavin’s life deserves to be celebrated, which will be held at a later date.
