Making a Difference Together!

We’re proud to see our communities building meaningful connections with the next generation. Recently, students from Columbus State University spent the day volunteering at Oaks at Grove Park—helping around the community, spending time with residents, and creating moments of connection and joy. 💙

We’re grateful for the time, energy, and kindness these students shared with our residents. Partnerships like this remind us that senior living is about more than care—it’s about community, connection, and bringing generations together.

Thank you, Columbus State University, for spending the day with us! We look forward to welcoming you back. 💙

Movement Matters at Oaks 💚

At Oaks Senior Living, we believe wellness is about more than just great care—it’s about helping our residents stay active, engaged, and connected to the things they enjoy.

Regular physical activity can support brain health, improve strength and balance, and may help slow memory loss as we age. That’s why we look for opportunities every day to keep our residents moving, whether it’s through exercise, walking, activities, dancing, or simply staying engaged with the community around them.

Because at Oaks, healthy aging means living life to the fullest—at every stage.

Staff Spotlight: Meet Misty Smith 💙

For 10 years, Misty Smith has been a familiar and caring presence at Oaks at Hampton. As a Lead Assisted Living Med Tech and certified Eden staff member, Misty brings compassion, dedication, and a deep connection to the residents she serves every day.

What she loves most about her work is getting to know the residents and hearing the stories of the lives they've lived.

“They have witnessed different parts of history that they have lived through, and it's really wonderful to be able to hear all of the things.”

Misty's dedication goes far beyond her role. During snow and ice storms, she's been known to bring her camper to the community so she can stay overnight with the residents and support her fellow caregivers. She has a gift for recognizing when something isn't quite right with a resident and knowing when they simply need a little extra comfort.

Her daughter, Caitlin, also works at Oaks at Hampton, and together they've worked their way from caregivers to CNAs and now Lead Med Techs—a pretty special family story of growth and dedication.

Outside of work, Misty is a huge Def Leppard fan, loves traveling to their concerts, spending time at the beach, and camping with her family and grandchildren.

We're incredibly grateful for 10 years of Misty's dedication, compassion, and heart. Thank you for everything you do for our residents and our team, Misty! ❤️

🌟 Resident Spotlight: Meet Gail Ann Price

Some of life's greatest adventures begin with a simple decision.

After the loss of her husband, Gail Ann Price knew she wanted to trade the responsibilities of homeownership for a place filled with connection, friendship, and opportunity. After touring twelve different senior living communities, she found exactly what she was looking for at Oaks at Towne Lake.

A lifelong writer and adventurer, Gail has lived an extraordinary life. She and her husband fulfilled a dream of designing and building their own round home, sailed throughout the Caribbean together, and created countless memories along the way. Her passion for storytelling earned her first-place honors in statewide writing competitions three years in a row, with several of her works receiving public recognition.

Today, Gail continues to embrace every day with the same adventurous spirit. Whether she's working toward her next walking milestone, enjoying the beautiful outdoor grounds, or spending time with friends, she finds joy in staying active and connected.

"The activities, the friendships, and the beautiful grounds. The people here have become like family."

We're honored to celebrate Gail and the incredible life experiences she brings to our community. Thank you for sharing your story with us, Gail! 💙
