🤍ONE WHOLE YEAR 🤍
Today marks one whole year of breastfeeding my sweet boy. ✨ One year of late-night feeds, cluster feeding, lip and tongue ties, distracted nursing, pumping while away, teeth (😅), snuggles, seeing his big brown eyes look up at me 🤎 and so many moments I know I’ll never forget and continue to cherish. 🥹
And this year has been extra special because I’ve had the privilege of bringing him along on some of my lactation visits.
To my clients who welcomed my little guy into their homes, offices, and feeding spaces — thank you. Thank you for allowing me to show up as both a lactation consultant AND a mama. Your understanding, patience, and kindness have meant more to me than you probably realize. 🤍
And an especially special thank you to the mamas who allowed me to sit beside you, support you, and sometimes even feed our babies alongside each other. There’s something so beautiful about being able to help another mother navigate her feeding journey while I was navigating my own.
This year has reminded me that there is no one “right” way to feed a baby and no magic number of months that makes a journey successful. It all deserves to be celebrated.
Some breastfeed for days.
Some weeks.
Some months.
Some years.
Some pump.
Some combo feed.
Some start with one goal and find their journey takes them somewhere completely different.
Every feeding journey deserves support. 🤍
And if I could give one piece of advice to the mama in the thick of it right now…
DO THE BREASTFEEDING PHOTOSHOOT. 📸🤱🏽
You will never regret having these moments captured.
Do it.
Take the pictures.
Capture the tiny hands.
The sleepy eyes.
The little milk-drunk smiles.
The way your baby fits perfectly in your arms.
Because one day, that baby will be bigger. 🥹
And you will be SO glad you have these photos to look back on. 🤎
You will never regret capturing a moment you worked so hard to create. ✨
So now I want to hear from YOU! 👇🏽
How long did you breastfeed or provide breastmilk to your baby?
OR
What is your breastfeeding/feeding goal with your current baby?
Tell me in the comments — whether you’re at day 1, month 1, month 12, year 2, or somewhere in between. There is no judgment here. Just support. 🤍
And if you’re currently feeding your baby, consider this your reminder:
You don’t have to know how the whole journey will go. Just take it one feed at a time.
You are doing an AMAZING job mama!🫶🏽 Brenda
