Curious what nervous system-focused care could do for you (or your child) here in Amherst, NY?

I’m accepting new patients! I’d be honored to help you do a little brain rewiring. 😉 Give my office a call 📲 (716) 868-1199 or tap the link in bio to schedule online through Jane and make an appointment!

For years, Chiropractors have known that adjustments impact way more than “pain management.”

Now, we have the research to back it up, beyond the anecdotal evidence we see in practice every day.

In a study of 76 people with back pain, one group added chiropractic care for four weeks while the other followed typical medical advice with no chiropractic.

The chiropractic group showed real changes in brain activity, some after a single session.

After four weeks, they reported less anxiety, a better mood, more restful sleep, and yes, less back pain too!

This is a sign of how intelligently your body is built.

Your nervous system is designed to adapt and respond to the right input.

Repeated adjustments are simply that input, helping the changes stick, like a trail that gets clearer the more you walk it.

This is one early study, and bigger research will tell us more, but it lines up with what we see in our office every day.

Things that are all true about me at the same time:

🙌🏻 I’m a Webster Certified pediatric and prenatal chiropractor with 14 years of experience.

🩷 I’m also a mom of two girls who hides ice cream in the freezer, so I don’t have to share.

🏈 I can talk to you about your baby’s nervous system, then turn around and yell at my TV about the Bills with equal passion.

🧘🏻‍♀️Yoga and Pilates keep me sane.

I take this work seriously. I do not take myself too seriously 😉

Do we have anything in common?

These preferences can develop for several reasons:

1️⃣ Position in the womb during the last few weeks of pregnancy
2️⃣ Birth experiences like prolonged labor or assisted delivery
3️⃣ Early feeding positions and habits
4️⃣ Tight neck muscles (sometimes called torticollis)

You might notice baby:

👶 is always looking to one side during tummy time or while lying down
👶 has difficulty turning to track objects in one direction
👶 gets fussy or refuses to nurse on one side
👶 starts developing a flat spot on one side of the head

The good news is that with proper care and guidance, these patterns can often be addressed naturally (early intervention is key!).

Remember, every baby develops differently. Sometimes, simple changes in how you position, carry, and interact with your baby can make a big difference.

However, if you’re noticing persistent patterns, don’t hesitate to reach out to a pediatric chiropractor.

We’re specially trained to assess these issues and can provide gentle, safe techniques to help your little one develop symmetrically and minimize tension in their tiny nervous system.

Your baby’s comfort (and parents’ stress levels) are our priority! 💕

Something I notice with new mamas that I wish I could change...

Many of them stop coming in for care right after baby arrives.

They made it through pregnancy. ✅
They had their baby. ✅

And they think their chiropractic care can take a backseat now.

But your body just completed the most incredible journey. And right now? It’s working so hard to recover.

In these postpartum weeks and months, your body is navigating:

😴 Little to no sleep while trying to heal
🤱 Hours of feeding in the same positions
👶 Holding and soothing your little one constantly
🎢 Major hormonal adjustments
💭 A nervous system that’s still in overdrive

After birth, many mamas remain stuck in “fight or flight” mode. The physical demands of newborn care, plus sleep deprivation and repetitive feeding positions, can keep your spine misaligned and your nervous system in overdrive.

This interference affects everything from your ability to rest and recover to how your body manages stress (PMID: 18722200).

Gentle postpartum adjustments that use light, fingertip pressure rather than forceful movements help activate your “rest and digest” system, allowing your body the space it needs to heal.

When your nervous system finds that calm, your baby can sense it too. Research shows maternal stress directly influences infant regulation (PMID: 18561289). A settled mama helps create a peaceful baby. 🤍

You deserve care during this season. (And yes, I absolutely love caring for your new babies, too.)

If you’re navigating those postpartum days and could use some support, I’d love to help.
