One of the most powerful shifts I see in therapy is when someone stops asking “what’s wrong with me?” and starts asking “what happened to me?”
Those are very different questions.
The first one turns you into the problem. The second one opens the door to understanding.
So much of what we carry in adulthood has roots we haven’t fully looked at yet. And that’s not a flaw. That’s just being human in a world that doesn’t always give us the space to process as we go.
You are not broken, you are someone who has lived through things.
