10,000 cases, way to go Help Me Grow Alaska!

Help Me Grow Alaska hit 10,000 cases this week!

Reaching 10,000 cases means 10,000 times a Help Me Grow Alaska Family Support Specialist connected with a family, identified their needs and helped them access support rather than face a complicated system alone.

Thank you to our families, partners, and communities for trusting us to walk alongside Alaska’s children and caregivers.

Building a system where every Alaskan kid has what they need to grow and succeed!

CCPO wants to hear from Alaska families and providers—and tomorrow's session is a great one to join!

➡️Wednesday, June 24, 5-7 p.m. (online via Teams)
➡️ Topic: Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) Family Application Process and Eligibility

If your family has used CCAP, applied for it, or works in child care, this is your chance to weigh in on the application process, eligibility requirements, reporting, and co-payments — the rules that shape how families access assistance day to day.

This is one of several sessions CCPO is hosting through September, each covering a different child care topic. Whether you're a provider, advocate, partner, or parent, your experience can help shape how these programs work going forward.

YOUR INPUT WANTED WEDNESDAY | Alaska’s Child Care Program Office (CCPO) hosts its next online community engagement session Wednesday, June 24, 5-7 p.m., on the topic “Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) Family Application Process and Eligibility.”

The session is an opportunity to share feedback, ideas, and suggestions related to the CCAP Family Application process, subsidy eligibility requirements, reporting requirements, and co-payments, as outlined in Alaska’s Administrative Code (AAC), 7 AAC 41.

Whether child care is your career or something your family relies on, you’re invited to take part in this and any other of the office’s community engagement sessions on a variety of topics being held via Teams through September 23, 2026.

Whether you’re a child care provider, advocate, community partner, or part of a family who uses or needs child care, CCPO wants to hear from you. Your input can be used to help improve child care in Alaska!

For the full schedule, including a list of topics and links to join the meetings, please see CCPO’s announcement: https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/AKDHSS/bulletins/41a2d18

Today, A2P2 staff had the chance to visit AFMS-Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson-673d Medical Group and the JBER Pediatrics Clinic to share about A2P2 and our Help Me Grow Alaska program — and more importantly, to listen. We left with great ideas about how we can work together to better support military families across Alaska. Thanks to the team there for hosting us and showing us your facility! (and for introducing us to Tali, their therapy dog!)

Join the Alaska Child Care Program Office (CCPO)'s 2026 Community Engagement Sessions — and the first one is this Wednesday, June 17, noon–2 p.m.! All sessions are held virtually via Teams.

This week's topic: Licensed Child Care Facility Application and Process.

The CCPO is hosting a series of community engagement sessions throughout 2026, and your input matters. Providers, families, advocates, and community partners are all invited to share feedback, experiences, and ideas across a range of child care programs and policies — from licensing and assistance to grants and regulations. What you share will directly shape how Alaska's child care system grows and evolves.
Join the conversations that matter most to you and help build something better for Alaska's kids and families.
