A little farewell to our OT student! 💕 It’s been such a joy having you with us and watching you learn, grow, and jump right in with our team. We’re so proud of all you’ve accomplished during your time here and can’t wait to see where your OT journey takes you! 🥰

And of course, we had to send her off in matching shirts! 👏🏼👕

Sometimes the best way to learn is by doing. 💪

During this week’s clinical development meeting, our OTs put themselves in the kids shoes and completed this week’s course while diving into the clinical reasoning behind its design.

Creating an obstacle course is more than putting fun activities together. We carefully select obstacles that challenge skills like balance, coordination, motor planning, bilateral coordination, postural strength, visual-motor integration, body awareness, and sensory processing. We also think about the flow of the course, transitions between activities, grading each obstacle to offer the just-right challenge, and how to make it engaging for children with a variety of strengths and needs.

Big milestones are built one small movement at a time. 💙

In this session, we worked on sit-to-stands, visual tracking, reaching outside of the base of support, balance, core strength and much more.

These skills help build the foundation for everyday movement, exploration, and independence as babies grow. Every reach, every shift in weight, and every successful sit-to-stand is a step toward bigger milestones.

☀️ Summer just got a little more adventurous!

We’re excited to introduce our neighborhood scavenger hunts, available in the waiting room for families to enjoy before or after sessions, or anytime you have a few extra minutes during your visit.

Choose from:
🌈 Rainbow Hunt
✋ Texture Hunt
📷 Photo Challenge Hunt

Each scavenger hunt encourages children to explore the neighborhood, notice details in their environment, and engage with the world around them in a fun and meaningful way. Whether they’re searching for colors, discovering different textures, or completing creative photo prompts, there’s something for everyone.

Be sure to grab a scavenger hunt on your next visit and see what you discover this summer!

This week’s obstacle course challenged balance, core strength, and motor planning while providing rich opportunities for proprioceptive input through climbing, crawling, pushing, and carrying. 💪

Proprioceptive input helps increase body awareness and support postural stability, motor planning, and the ability to grade force and movement during play and daily activities.
