Governor Tony Evers has officially proclaimed June as Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month in Wisconsin, helping raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia that impact thousands of Wisconsin families each year.

Alzheimer's is more than memory loss—it affects thinking, behavior, and the ability to perform everyday tasks. While there is currently no cure, early detection, education, and support can make a significant difference for individuals and their loved ones.

This month, we encourage our community to:

✅ Support family caregivers
✅ Stay socially, physically, and mentally active

🚨 Emergency Preparedness for Seniors 🚨

Emergencies can happen when we least expect them. Taking a few simple steps now can help seniors stay safe and give families peace of mind.
Ask yourself:

✅ Do you have an up-to-date list of medications?
✅ Are emergency contacts easy to find?
✅ Do you have flashlights, batteries, and a weather radio?
✅ Is there enough food, water, and medical supplies for several days?
✅ Do family members know your emergency plan?

For older adults, being prepared is especially important. Whether it's severe weather, a power outage, or another unexpected event, having a plan in place can make all the difference.

This week, take a few minutes to review your emergency preparedness plan with your loved ones.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the BrightStar Care of Appleton table at the Arthritis Fair on Friday!

We enjoyed meeting so many members of our community, sharing information about arthritis, fall prevention, and ways to stay safe and independent at home. Our team had a great time answering questions, playing arthritis trivia, spinning the prize wheel, and connecting with attendees and fellow vendors.

Events like these are a wonderful reminder of the importance of education, support, and community resources for individuals living with arthritis and their families.

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, and everyone who made the event a success. We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a great community event!
