Summer Austin Sechrest Kennedy, age 36, of Seagrove, NC, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, following a courageous 9-month battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jonathan Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Baptist Temple Church Cemetery.

Born on August 27, 1989, in Randolph County, NC, Summer was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, granddaughter, and friend. Being a mother was Summer’s greatest blessing, and she loved her children with all her heart. As a nurse, Summer touched countless lives through her compassion, and ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved.

Despite the challenges she faced, Summer remained courageous and continued to put her family first. Her love and strength will remain an inspiration to all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Zackery Kennedy; her children, Talon L. Davis, Jaxtyn K. Kennedy and Jordyn K. Kennedy; stepsons, Jase Luck, Silas Kennedy; her father, Keith Sechrest, and stepmother, Donna; her brother, Chad Sechrest and wife, Ali; her paternal grandfather, Herman J. Sechrest; maternal grandparents, Clement and Margaret Comer; and her nieces, Scarlett and Lilah Sechrest; extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory forever.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Angela D. Joyce; paternal grandmother, Gracie Sechrest; and maternal grandfather, Ed Deaton.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, at Ridge Funeral Home, prior to the service.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Cone Health Wesley Long Hospital for the compassionate care, comfort, and support they provided to Summer and her family throughout her final days.

Mildred Hancock Rush

Mildred Marie Hancock Rush, 79, of Sophia, died Monday, June 22, 2026, at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Pastor Jamie Stephenson and Pastor Terry Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Back Creek Friends Meeting Cemetery.

Mildred was born on June 1, 1947, in Randolph County, NC. She retired from Commonwealth Hosiery in Randleman. Mildred was a faithful member of Hope Baptist Church. She found joy in spending time fishing, shopping, and traveling. She was also a talented cook and baker whose delicious meals and homemade cakes were cherished by family and friends. Her baking, especially her cakes, became one of the many ways she shared her love with those around her.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Hampton Wade Rush and her mother, Edith Clara Parker Hancock.

Surviving are her daughter, Sherry Nichols (Roger) of Sophia; sons, Terry Rush of Sophia, Shaun Rush (Lisa) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Michael Trogdon, Erika Nichols, Ashley Nichols King (Mike); great grandson, M.J. King; and her best friend, Shirley King of Ramseur.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.

The family extends a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Gentiva Hospice for the exceptional care given to Mildred.

Ronald "Ronnie" Tracy Cooper, 75, of Asheboro, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family, Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 22, 2026, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, 908 Albemarle Road, Asheboro, with Pastor Ed Carter officiating and Michelle Hill sharing memories. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.

Ronnie was born on July 9, 1950, in Randolph County, the son of the late Tracy Raymond Cooper and Annie Auman Cooper. He was a huge sports fan with his favorite teams being the Carolina Tarheels, the Atlanta Braves, and his favorite NASCAR driver, Jimmy Johnson. He enjoyed working in his yard and planting his garden. He loved predicting the weather and was usually pretty accurate. Ronnie loved watching the waves of the ocean whenever he could.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his sisters, Jean Hall, Wanda Lowe; and sister-in-law, Tammy Randleman.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Cooper; daughter, Tracey Adams and husband Eric; son, Aubrey Scott Cooper and wife Crystal; grandchildren, Dustin Cooper and wife Bryanna, Regan Cooper, Colin Adams, Nicole Corns, Nathan Corns; great grandchildren, Re*****on Cooper, Sawyer Cooper, Axton Cooper, Ellis Cooper, Zaxton Hamm, Zayden Corns; several special nieces and nephews; and his dog, Bella.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Ridge Funeral Home.

Camila "Cami" Jewel Garner, 42, of Denton, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, June 15, 2026, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 19, 2026, at Science Hill Friends Meeting, with Pastor Andy Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the meeting cemetery.

Cami was born on July 25, 1983, in Randolph County. Cami lived life with a joyful spirit and a heart that welcomed everyone she met. A true lover of the outdoors, she found peace and happiness surrounded by nature, whether tending to her flowers, watching hummingbirds flutter nearby, admiring the beauty of butterflies and enjoyed hunting for arrowheads. She also had a love for cooking for family and friends. Cami had a theatrical personality and bubbly nature. She never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone, making people feel comfortable and valued.

Above all, Cami carried a deep love for Jesus Christ and through him she was able to work through her life struggles and was determined to finish strong.

Cami was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Reid and Meredith Thornburg; paternal grandparents, Wade and Virginia Garner; bonus grandfather, Wayne Lawson.

She is survived by her son, Braxton Vick who she loved deeply; mother, Laura Garner; father, Michael Garner and wife Kim; bonus grandmother, Carol Lawson; brother, Carson Garner; partner, Danny Brown; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and fur baby, Russell.

The family will receive friends following the service at Science Hill Friends Meeting.
