Last week Tamarack Health supported 4 separate National Night Out Events in Ashland, Hayward, Minong and Springbrook. We provided volunteers and over 300 bike helmets, with personal fittings and safety lessons to kids and families.

We are proud to partner with area law enforcement and community officials to support this nationwide effort to bring communities together. We encourage Northwestern Wisconsin communities hosting National Night Out events to reach out to [email protected], we would love an invitation to join your event.

Tamarack Health is proud to be part of our community’s National Night Out celebrations to promote police and community partnerships on August 4th.

We will have free bike helmets for the whole family at the Ashland Police Department; Hayward Intermediate School; Love Memorial Field in Minong and at the VFW in Springbrook from 5 - 7 PM or while supplies last. Remember to always ride safe!

Wisconsin hospitals continue to set the national standard for high-quality, patient-centered
care, with more hospitals earning five-star ratings for nurse communication than any other state in the country, according to recently released data from Becker’s Hospital Review.

“At a time when workforce challenges continue to strain hospitals and health systems across the nation, Wisconsin hospitals continue to prioritize resources on investments that will help our workforce communicate effectively with patients and deliver the exceptional care our communities depend on,” said WHA President and CEO Kyle O’Brien.

Tamarack Health Hayward Medical Center hosted a regional Spinning Babies training on May 15, bringing together obstetric nurses, physicians, physical therapists, doulas, and other birth professionals from across Wisconsin and Minnesota. The training, organized by the OB team at Hayward Medical Center, reflects a broader organizational commitment to reducing cesarean birth rates (C-sections) and improving outcomes for low-risk, first-time mothers.

Tamarack Health is pleased to announce that two of its staff have received the Rural Health Ambassador Award from the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative. This award recognizes employees who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in their work and made significant contributions to rural health care.

At Ashland Medical Center, Registered Nurse and OB Nurse Manager for the Family Birthplace, Jenny Yang, received the award for her support of patients by leading the obstetrics team and partnering with internal and external partners in a number of patient-centered programs.

At Hayward Medical Center, Vice President of Human Resources, Anna Skar, received the award for her dedication as a Senior Leader in a busy, expanding healthcare organization, where she has made “the people” her priority, extending far beyond traditional human resources functions.

Tamarack Health Ashland Medical Center registered nurse Morgan Chatterton, RN, and Tamarack Health Hayward Medical Center registered nurses Justin Cebery, RN, and Monica Miner, RN, were recently presented with DAISY Awards for Extraordinary Nurses, recognizing the wonderful care they provide every day. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s program that honors nurses for their compassionate care to their patients and families.

We are excited to share Spooner Health's announcement of our partnership to expand primary care services in their community. They will be breaking ground on a new addition that will include a primary care clinic, jointly owned by Tamarack Health and Spooner Health.

Stay tuned for progress updates and announcements about this new addition and expanded service, anticipated to open in June 2027.
