Summer trails are calling, and nothing derails a perfect day out there faster than that familiar hot spot forming at mile three.

The good news? Most blisters are preventable. Our team put together a complete, science-backed guide to help you get to the summit and back, comfortably.

Nearly half of U.S. adults have high blood pressure, and most don't know it. This May, in honor of National Blood Pressure Awareness Month, we're talking about why knowing your numbers could save your life.

High blood pressure has no symptoms. It silently damages your heart, brain and kidneys long before you feel anything. The good news? It's treatable, and catching it early makes all the difference.

A simple visit to your primary care provider is the first step. We make it easy to get the care you need, close to home.

Schedule your visit today by calling 970.279.4111.

For you. For life.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we're saying a heartfelt thank you. ๐Ÿ’™
At Aspen Valley Health, we know that caring for others starts with caring for ourselves. Healthcare workers experience burnout at significantly higher rates than most professions, and we take that seriously.

Over the past year, we've been proud to host our "Reset & Refreshments" series, hour-long sessions giving our employees dedicated space to step away, recharge and focus on their own mental wellness. Our incredible community partners led each session with tips, tools and real conversation, and we are so grateful.

Thank you for sharing your time, your expertise and your compassion with us. You remind us that more good days are possible, together.

For women, strong bones are a lifelong health essential. ๐Ÿ’› This Women's Health Month, Dr. Catherine Chamberlin, one of our primary care providers, is thinking about the long game:
"I encourage my daughter to be strong and develop muscles. Strong muscles build strong bones that will carry her through every adventure ahead."

Women are disproportionately affected by osteoporosis, but habits built early make all the difference. Weight-bearing activities like rock climbing, hiking, trail running and tennis build the grip and lower-body strength most closely linked to bone density in women, with benefits that compound over a lifetime.

The best time to start is now, whatever stage of life you're in.

For you. For life.

May is Bike Month, and we're ready to roll! ๐Ÿšฒ
As a proud sponsor of WE-cycle, we're celebrating the Roaring Fork Valley's community bike share program and everything it brings to our community: fresh air, movement, connection and a little less traffic. ๐ŸŒฟ

The first 30 minutes of every ride are free. New to WE-cycle? Visit we-cycle.org to get started. If you ride regularly or use RFTA, download the Transit App for the easiest experience. It features live bike availability, station maps and real-time bus schedules all in one place.

More good days are possible, and you don't have to get there alone. ๐Ÿ’™
This Mental Health Awareness Month, we're sharing some wisdom from Michelle Coombs, LPC, our Bilingual Behavioral Health Clinician at Aspen Valley Health:

๐Ÿ’™ On hard days, go back to basics.
Self-care doesn't have to be a hike or a meditation session. Sometimes it's drinking water, texting a friend a meme, or stepping outside for a moment. What counts as "good" changes day to day, and that's okay.

๐Ÿ’™ Connection matters more than you think.
Isolation can sneak up on us. Even small moments of connection โ€” a quick call, a text, showing up somewhere โ€” can interrupt a downward spiral before it starts.

๐Ÿ’™ Ask yourself: what's actually in my control right now?
It's easy to get stuck in the past or anxious about the future. Bringing your focus back to the present and what you can actually do today is one of the most powerful tools we have.

Our behavioral health team offers individual therapy, EMDR and psychiatric referrals at our Aspen and Basalt locations, with Spanish-language services available. Call 970.279.4111 to schedule.

Care that comes full circle. ๐Ÿ’› This Women's Health Month, we're celebrating the whole-person care that women deserve at every stage of life, from adolescence to reproductive health and pregnancy, midlife and beyond.

Dr. Caroline Norris, one of our internal medicine physicians, experienced that care as both a provider and a patient:
"As both a physician and a patient, I experienced firsthand the compassion, expertise and support that define Aspen Valley Health. Welcoming my baby here was more than specialโ€”it was a reminder of what exceptional womenโ€™s healthcare should feel like."

Every phase of a woman's life deserves that same level of care. We're proud to deliver it.

For you. For life.
