WHO SAID YOUR BEST YEARS HAVE
TO BE BEHIND YOU?
Some people reach 45 and start thinking about retirement. I reached that season of my life and started thinking about reinvention.
Entrepreneurship taught me how to create opportunities. The film industry taught me how to step into opportunities I never imagined would come my way.
And somewhere between building businesses, stepping in front of cameras, and discovering new dimensions of myself, I realized something powerful:
Sometimes your second act can be greater than your first.
I’m now 51, and I’m still becoming. Still learning. Still building. Still taking chances on dreams that some people believe have an expiration date.
I’ve learned that experience isn’t a disadvantage. It’s an asset. And age doesn’t disqualify you from greatness. Sometimes it prepares you for it.
I’m not trying to compete with the younger version of myself. I’m creating a version of myself that younger me couldn’t have imagined.
Your next chapter doesn’t have to look anything like your last one.
So here’s my question:
If you had the opportunity to reinvent yourself after 45 or 50, what would you pursue if fear, age, and other people’s opinions weren’t factors?
It’s not too late if you’re still here.
