Leilani was honored to spend today providing a clinical training for local therapists on Invisible Wounds: Beyond PTSD — Recognizing and Treating Moral Injury.

Moral injury is a topic especially close to Leilani’s heart, particularly in her work with first responders, military veterans, and those working in the medical and healthcare field. These professionals are often exposed to situations that challenge deeply held beliefs, values, and their sense of right and wrong in ways that can leave wounds that extend beyond traditional PTSD.

A huge thank you to Longleaf Recovery of Baldwin County for hosting the training and for continuing to invest in our local mental health community. Creating opportunities for therapists to grow, share resources, learn from one another, and collaborate ultimately helps all of us better serve the people in our communities.

We are grateful to be part of a community of professionals committed to learning, growing, and supporting one another.

We were back in the community today as we provided information about HMC to the Tribes employee’s. We had a great time meeting people and saying hello to familiar faces. I know this, the tribe takes care of its employees. From spectacular health care to so many other resources. We are proud to have been invited and to build the relationships we have.

First day of school for our two school based therapists. Jordan is serving Bratt Elementry School and Jacqueline is serving Earnest Ward and Northview. We are honored to be trusting with our communities schools.

🐾 Meet the newest member of the Healthy Minds team… Lady Bird! 💛

Lady Bird is our 10-week-old German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) puppy, and she’ll be joining us at the office on some days.

Her official job duties currently include:
🐶 Greeting clients
🤎 Accepting ALL the snuggles
🐾 Making people smile
🧠 Helping calm and regulate nervous systems
💤 Taking naps on the clock
😂 And generally distracting the staff from getting any work done

Lady Bird is still a puppy and learning her office manners, but we think she’s going to make a pretty great addition to the Healthy Minds family.

And because we know dogs aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, if you prefer not to have close contact with Lady Bird, that is absolutely no problem! Just let us know. Your comfort always comes first, and she can happily stay out of your space.
