Dr. Parker provides loving chiropractic care for large and small animals. Small animal care is provided in office, on site for larger quantity or can also meet at a location. Dr. Parker received her advanced training through Parker Chiropractic College and is certified through the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA). Dr. Parker continually hones her skills in animal adjusting by attending advanced trainings throughout the country.

Did you know?

🐶 Dogs have 7 neck vertebrae, whether they’re a tiny Chihuahua or a Great Dane!

🐴 Horses have 18 pairs of ribs and use their entire body to balance while standing and moving.

🐱 Cats can have more than 230 bones, depending on the length of their tail!

Every animal’s body is built differently, but comfortable movement matters for them all. Regular observation can help you notice changes in posture, movement or behavior early.

A barn call takes more than simply showing up and making an adjustment! Dr. Parker comes prepared with the tools, knowledge, and patience needed to work with animals of all sizes and personalities.

Every visit is a little different, some patients are curious, some are cautious, and some think her bag is full of treats. 🤣

🤔Does my horse need a day off after being adjusted?

✅Dr. Parker recommends that you give your horse 24-48 hours of rest following each adjustment. They need time to process the adjustment.

You can take them for a walk on a lead rope or turn out in a small area like a round pen or small paddock is ideal. They need to move their legs so they don’t get stiff but we don’t want them kicking at other horses or getting kicked.

Did you know your animal’s jaw can affect more than just eating?

Tension or restriction in the jaw may influence posture, head carriage, movement, and overall comfort. For horses, it can even show up as resistance with the bit or difficulty flexing evenly.

Animal chiropractic care looks at the whole body, not just one sore spot, to help restore balance and better movement. Dr. Parker can help with that!

The Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (“TBVME”) recently published a rule proposal amending Chapter 573 (concerning, among other things, the provision of “animal chiropractic and other forms of musculoskeletal manipulation”). The proposed rule amendments can be found here: https://veterinary.texas.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/chapter-573-rules-of-professional-conduct-updated-6-24-26.pdf.

The TBVME will meet Tuesday, July 21, 2026, to consider the proposal (details available here: https://veterinary.texas.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/july-21-2026-board-book-for-public-2.pdf).

The Texas Chiropractic Association submitted comment to the TBVME, expressing concerns that the amended language seems to include inconsistencies and is confusing (particularly regarding use of the term “chiropractic”).

Even though the Texas Legislature isn’t in session, the wheels of government don’t stop turning. TCA continuously monitors these issues (and many others) in the interim to fulfill its role as THE Voice of Texas Chiropractors.
