If you're a woman over 30 and not strength training, you're losing muscle and strength every year.
After 30, women lose up to 3 to 5% of their muscle mass per decade. That loss accelerates after menopause. And with it comes weaker bones, slower metabolism, more body fat, and a higher risk of injury and chronic pain.
Cardio alone won't stop this. You need to be lifting heavy and progressive overload needs to be part of your program.
The women who feel strong, capable, and pain free in their 40s, 50s, and beyond are the ones who started strength training early and stayed consistent.
It's not too late to start. But the longer you wait, the harder it gets.
