Paper cups aren’t what you think…

If you think microplastics aren’t a big deal, think again…

There are several studies showing that microplastics are endocrine disruptors (PMID: 36726457, 34484127)…

And they’ve been found in human brain, ovaries, testicles, and arteries (PMID: 36726457, 36948312, 38745431, 39901044, 33395930)…

One study even shows it could be responsible for heart disease (PMID: 38446676)…

I wouldn’t underestimate the detrimental effects plastic can have on our bodies…

So I strongly believe we should do our best to limit our exposure to microplastics…

Start by avoiding paper cups, plastic bottles, aluminum containers, plastic cutting boards and your quality of life will improve…

The black plastic utensils you cook with every single day might be poisoning you….

Most of the utensils we see in stores aren’t made from virgin plastic.

They’re made from recycled electronics which are loaded with flame retardant chemicals called PBDEs that were designed to prevent fires.

Here’s what the science shows:

- 85% of black plastic kitchen products tested positive for banned flame retardants (PMID: 39271080)
- DecaBDE (fully banned by the EPA in 2021) was found in 70% of samples tested
- The highest PBDE exposure group had a ~300% increased cancer mortality risk

These chemicals were phased out of electronics for a reason. The fix is simple and costs almost nothing.

Switching to wood or metal utensils is the single easiest swap you can make today.
