Anxiety does not always look obvious from the outside.

Many people experiencing anxiety still perform well at work, school, and in their daily responsibilities, which can make their struggles harder for others to recognize.

Because they appear โ€œsuccessfulโ€ externally, many people minimize what theyโ€™re going through internally.

You do not have to wait until things feel unmanageable to seek support. Therapy can help you build coping skills, manage anxiety, and reduce the pressure you place on yourself. ๐Ÿ’›

Animals brighten many people's lives, but did you know they can be used as a therapeutic intervention? ๐Ÿพ

Animal-assisted therapy is a relatively new intervention where therapists bring in trained animals to enhance clients' emotional well-being. While research in animal-assisted therapy is still in the beginning stages, recent studies show that clients experience a reduction in stress, anxiety, and depression symptoms, and it has been effectively used across age groups. Frankie, seen here, has brought her clients much joy and comfort during their time at CAC. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ“š This Month's Book Recommendation: The Body Keeps the Score

Trauma doesnโ€™t just live in our memories it can live in our bodies too.

The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk explores how trauma impacts the brain and body, and why healing often requires more than just talking about our experiences.

This book offers insight into:
๐Ÿง  How trauma affects the brain
๐Ÿ’› Why our bodies hold onto stress and pain
๐ŸŒฟ Different pathways to healing, including somatic and mindfulness-based approaches

Whether youโ€™re on your own healing journey or looking to better understand others, this book is a powerful resource.

April is Stress Awareness Month ๐ŸŒฟ

Stress is a natural part of being human but when it builds up without care or release, it can impact our minds, bodies, and relationships. This month is an invitation to slow down, check in, and explore what support looks like for you.

You donโ€™t have to wait until youโ€™re overwhelmed to take care of yourself. Small, consistent acts of care can make a meaningful difference.

If youโ€™re needing extra support, therapy can be a powerful place to start. ๐Ÿ’›
