Cedar’s Memory Café friends celebrated and reminisced about the 4th of July. Shared stories of being in 4th of July parades either in the marching band, Honor Guard, riding in a convertible or walking. We shared about our favorite foods that we would bring to family gatherings. We also sang patriotic songs and watching the beautiful fireworks over New York City. We tested our mind with some of our nation’s trivia. Got the creative juices flowing by making a firecracker while enjoying laughter and building friendships.

Memory Cafe helps provide a meaningful program for caregivers and person living with dementia, helps decrease the stigma, lessen the isolation for caregivers and person living with dementia and provide caregivers with resources.

A family member and her mother was out in our courtyard last night. This beautiful duck flew in and planted herself in our pond. We love the third picture of her posing for a picture. What a wonderful creation.

As The Cedars celebrates its 40th anniversary, we’re reminded that Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia have touched the lives of many residents, families, and team members over the years.

Tis the season for the wonderful Music at the Mansion. We just love going to the Hormel House during the summer.

We had some amazing music this afternoon by Chris Von Arx and his son. There was a lot of toe tapping, dancing and singing! We all let loose.
