Last Friday, our team joined forces with SPARC Center to clean up our community—and together, we made a big impact. In just one cleanup, we were able to collect OVER 750 syringes‼️

We had an incredible time working alongside the SPARC team, and it was a great reminder that when we work together, we can make an even greater impact.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day, a day to remember those we have lost and recommit to evidence-based overdose prevention.

In 2024, The Baltimore Banner and The New York Times named Baltimore the “Overdose Capital of America.” However, Baltimore communities have lived this crisis long before it became a headline. We have lost cherished friends, family, and neighbors.

Today, we are seeing progress, with overdose deaths declining. Nevertheless, the crisis is far from over, and Black Marylanders continue to be disproportionately impacted. We must build on the progress we’ve made and keep working toward a future without overdose deaths.

We honor everyone impacted by this crisis and send love to those who are grieving, healing, and supporting loved ones. Thank you for carrying this work forward with us.

We’ve signed on to Housing Our Neighbors’s petition calling on Baltimore City to reject a proposed 90-day limit on shelter stays.

People experiencing homelessness deserve stability, dignity, and the time they need to find safe, appropriate housing. We’re proud to support Housing Our Neighbors and their work to ensure shelter remains a place of safety, not a countdown.

Our team recently designed and installed new client comment boxes!

You’ll now find three comment boxes throughout our Drop-In Center where clients can easily share feedback, suggestions, or ideas using the slips provided. For those who prefer, there’s also a digital feedback form available.

We’re excited to offer another way for clients to share their voices and help shape our services. Thank you to the staff team who worked hard to make this project happen!

The open position is Client Service Specialist II, a full-time role in which the individual provides harm reduction services to participants at CCCC’s drop-in center and in the community. Individuals who have personal experience with drug use or s*x work, people of color, members of the LGBTQ community, and the formerly incarcerated are strongly encouraged to apply.
