Our new Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is up and running, and we’re continuing to make great progress — thank you for your patience and support!

As we work through this transition, prescription refill requests are currently experiencing longer-than-usual turnaround times.

Here’s how you can help avoid delays:

📅 Plan ahead for ongoing medications

We’re proud to share that Amy West, Clinical Director of Homeless Health Services at Hope House Health and Living Center, part of Penobscot Community Health Care, has been appointed to the City of Bangor’s Committee on Homelessness.

Amy joins a diverse group of community members, experts, and individuals with lived experience who will help guide Bangor’s long-term response to homelessness.

At PCHC, we see every day how complex and deeply connected these challenges are—and we’re grateful to have a seat at the table through Amy’s leadership. We’re also encouraged by the City’s commitment to taking a thoughtful, long-term approach to addressing homelessness in our community.

Congratulations, Amy, and thank you for helping move this important work forward!

The Bangor City Council this week appointed nine members to the City’s Committee on Homelessness following an exhaustive selection process that included the review of 57 applications from people seeking to serve on the committee.

Members are charged with creating a strategic plan for the City’s response to homelessness that is data driven, evidence informed and that considers regional coordination.

Once this initial charge is addressed, the committee will more expansively consider other related issues, such as identifying gaps in service, recommending sustainable funding strategies, reviewing state legislative proposals, and community stakeholder engagement.

During National EMS Week, PCHC extends gratitude to EMS professionals and all first responders who serve our communities. Especially in the wake of the tragic events that unfolded in Searsmont last week and the tragic loss of a beloved community member and first responder, we want to honor the risks and sacrifice of first responders everywhere. Thank your local first responders this week and always for their service, sacrifice, and steadfast commitment to the people of Maine.
