A nighttime routine can definitely set the stage for better sleep... but realistically, it's not going to happen every night.

On the busy, stressful, "I'm just trying to get in bed" nights, even a few deep breaths can make a difference.

Inhale slowly... then let a long, slow exhale melt some of the tension out of your body. It's a simple way to settle your mind and signal to your body that it's safe to rest.

When it's too hot to cook, it's easy to default to takeout... but using what's already in your fridge can save your goal...

When it's too hot to cook, it's easy to default to takeout... but using what's already in your fridge can save your goals and your groceries.

This cold cauliflower + brussel sprout + carrot slaw took 10 minutes and checked all the boxes: fiber, high-volume/low calorie, and no heat required.

Here's what I used:
•2 cups finely chopped cauliflower
•2 cups shaved brussel sprouts
•1 cups shredded carrots

Dressing:
• 3 Tbsp olive oil
• 2 tsp honey
• juice of 1/2 lemon (about 2 Tbsp)
• 1/2 tsp garlic powder
• salt and pepper to taste

Mix the veggies in a bowl.
Whiskey the dressing ingredients seperately, pour over veggies and stir or shake well.
Add 1/4 cup parmesan cheese and any extras you'd like (nuts, seeds, dried cranberries) I used sunflower seeds.
Let sit 5-10 minutes and enjoy cold.

Easy, budget friendly, and keeps you on track even when it's too hot to turn on the stove.

I know that just because it's the weekend, the stress doesn't magically disappear.
Sometimes it just means you have a little extra time to think- about last week, about next week, and everything in between.

So instead of letting your mind spiral into what was or what's coming... take a minute to reset with me.

Unclench your jaw.
Soften your face.
Drop your shoulders.
Take a deep breath in...
And slowly exhale.

We didn't have anything pulled out for dinner tonight and my husband offered to grab Culver's. 🍔

But we always have ground beef on hand, and it defrosts fast....so Big Mac bowls it is.

After having a more "fun" lunch earlier this week, having another cheaty meal so soon didn't feel supportive to our goals. This felt like an easy compromise.

And honestly, I like to save my Culver's nights for when I'm truly craving a cheese curd.

Real-life wellness doesn't have to be complicated if you take it one choice at a time.

Perimenopause changed my body, even when I was doing everything "right."

So I stopped chasing a number on a scale and started choosing reasons that actually natter: strength, energy, mobility, and being able to carry my own kayak.

This is why I work out now.

These were my lunch today...and it's not often you'll hear a wellness coach say this is ok 🤷‍♀️

My day wasn't ruined.
My progress wasn't ruined.
My wellness isn't falling apart.

In fact, I have been feeling better than ever.

I had a healthy breakfast, dentist appointments, prioritized Buddy's walk, decided to go kayaking, and had a turkey BLT with a side of fruit for dinner.

My day wasn't perfect, but it was very balanced.
Not every day will look like a difficult workout and perfectly hit macros.

A "cheaty" meal or a skipped workout doesn't erase my consistency or my progress.

Real-life wellness isn't about perfection.
Today was a good day.
