I am filled with awe and gratitude as I reflect on my experience at the NCDA Global Career Development Conference.

It was a privilege to present with my mentor and colleague, Jennifer Curry, on the intersection of mental health and career development. We were also able to celebrate the publication of our new monograph, "The Mental Health and Career Development Nexus: A Framework for the Role and Function of Career Practitioners," and participate in a book signing with one of the chapter authors, Christopher Belser.

We were also deeply honored to receive the NCDA Presidential Award recognizing our work on this monograph.

Our hope is that this resource encourages a deeper understanding of the connections between mental health and career development and the resilience that can come from meaningful work.

I am grateful to Jen, all of our outstanding chapter authors, and NCDA for making this work possible.

There is a lot of misinformation being posted and shared right now given a local news story. Your strong reactions are a normal response, too. Unfortunately a postpartum experience often has to escalate to tragedy to get media attention.

Postpartum Psychosis is a serious medical emergency. However, most people who do experience PP do not harm themselves or anyone else. There is a risk of danger when psychosis includes delusional thinking and irrational judgement. Do NOT turn avoid a mama who is having a hard time.

It can be overwhelming as a spouse, a support person, or a family member, when a new mother is in crisis. BUT HELP IS AVAILABLE!!!

Call or text the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 833-852-6262. Available 24/7 to speak to a counselor trained in maternal mental health to help advise on next steps.
